Alden Richards to hold 'Upsurge' concert on May 27

Pambansang Bae Alden Richards is set to return to the concert scene as he stages "Upsurge" at the Kia Theater in Cubao, Quezon City on May 27.

"This coming May 27 po magkakaroon po ako ng show, concert po sa Kia Theatre," said Richards during an interview on "24 Oras" news program on GMA 7recently.

Richards did not give other details of the show but he said that the venue and date of the concert are definite. It will be produced by GMA Network and GMA Records.

The last time he appeared in a concert was in January when he staged a show in California with other Kapuso stars.

Aside from acting, Richard is also into music. His CD "Wish I May" released in October 2015 was certified Diamond by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry.

Richards also thanked his fans for their support to his primetime teleserye "Destined To Be Yours" with Maine Mendoza.

Richards said that fans of the show could expect more twists in future episodes of the teleserye in which he plays Benjie and Mendoza as Sinag.

"Parang nahuhulog na si Benjie kay Sinag sa mga panahong ito. Marami pang dapat abangan, abangan niyo po kung ano pang mga twist ang mangyayari," he said.

Richards also said that Mendoza is also enjoying the set of "Destined."

"Si Maine naman nasasanay na siya kasi nag-e-enjoy kami sa set. From artista to director to utility staffs, sobrang gaang ng trabaho namin sa araw-araw. Sana nga ang taping na lang from Mondays to Sundays para magkakasama kami palagi," he said. - Robert Requintina
