Pia Wurtzbach reacts to Oscars flub

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has reacted to the Oscars mistake, saying that the epic fail could happen to anybody.

"And if it can happen to me, it can happen to anybody," said Wurtzbach, in her tweet that accompanied a clip from one of her endorsements.

It would be recalled that in December 2015, television host Steve Harvey accidentally announced that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez won Miss Universe when in fact it was Wurtzbach.

During the Oscars show last February 26, presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced "La La Land" as the winner when "Moonlight" had actually won. Producer Jordan Horowitz confirmed there had been a mixed up.

Oscar host Jimmy Kimmel reacted during live broadcast: "Personally I blame Steve Harvey for this."

The Miss Universe Organization immediately took to social media after the gaffe.

"Have your people call our people - we know what to do," according to the MUO tweet which has collected more than 16,000 re-tweets in one hour after it was posted.

Beatty has apologized for the Oscar blunder.

One month after she relinquished her crown, Wurtzbach is back on television as one of the judges for "Asia's Next Top Model" cycle 5 on April 5.

"Catch the season premiere of @asntm on April 5 as I judge to find Asia's Next Top Model," said Wurtzbach on Instagram.

The Filipino-German beauty queen has said that she will be busy with the "Top Model" show following her reign.

It was in December 2016 when rumors spread that she would appear as one of the judges for the modelling competition after she was seen with host Cindy Bishop in Singapore.

The reality show, which is the Asian version of the defunct "America's Next Top Model" by Tyra Banks, is being taped in Singapore.

Reports said that Wurtzbach would have recurring appearances on the show for several episodes.

The beauty queen has said that she will be based in New York for a while after she signed up with IMG Models talent agency. She added that she would still be working as an ambassador for the Miss Universe Organization.
