Bb Pilipinas 2017: What you didn't see on TV

The Binibining Pillipinas 2017 beauty pageant was aired on ABS-CBN on April 30 but not every moment made it in the live telecast. Here's what I saw that you didn't.

* Filipino-Swiss F1 racing driver Marlon Stockinger came to the Big Dome more than one hour before the Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant started. He was accompanied by Aces and Queens mentor Jonas Gaffud. Of course, Stockinger was there to give support to his girlfriend Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach who hosted the pageant for the first time with actor Xian Lim. This simply goes to show that Wurtzbach and Stockinger are still together despite reports that the professional racer is already a father to twin daughters.

* Actors Christopher de Leon and wife Sandy Andolong were also around to give boost to their daughter Mariel de Leon who was crowned Bb Pilipinas International. The celebrity couple even joined the late dinner for judges, sponsors and VIPs.

* Wurtzbach teased Lim to sing for the audience during commercial breaks but the actor never obliged and just smiled.

*  Reigning Miss World Philippines Catriona Gray also watched the prestigious beauty pageant at Smart Araneta Coliseum. Perhaps she's giving support to her friend Arianne Caliongo who placed 1st runner-up to her at the 2016 Miss World Philippines finals. Yet pageant fans are starting to bet on Gray as the country's next representative to the Miss Universe contest following reports that the Bicolana will join Bb Pilipinas in 2018.

* Governor Migz Villafuerte of Camarines Sur, along with his companions, cheered and all smiles when his girlfriend Rachel Peters was finally named Bb Pilipinas Universe.

* While members of the board of judges deliberated on the winners, fans at the Araneta Coliseum were treated to a rewind of the show "Road to the Crown" which was aired on ABS-CBN a week before the finals. But what thrilled the audience at the Big Dome was the fact that judge Gretchen Ho saw the replay of the TV special being hosted by former boyfriend Robbie Domingo and being flashed on the big screen in front of the panel of judges. I wondered what was going on in Ho's mind when she saw that part with Domingo as the crowd cheered.

* Reigning Miss International Kylie Verzosa got the loudest cheer from fans during the farewall walk of the 2016 Binibini queens.

Binibini 'Shockers'

1) Fans were shocked when front-runner Sirene Sutton fumbled during the Q&A portion of the pageant.

2) Another disappointment was Charmaine Elima, a shoo-in for major titles but only finished first runner-up.

                                                                     Dindi Joy Pajares

                                                                    Kimberly Pajares

3) What happened to Dindi Joy Pajares and sister Kimberly? Not one of these gorgeous sisters entered the first cut.

Part of the crowd that rocked the Big Dome.

4) Fans at the Big Dome were stunned at the long deliberation of the judges for the winners. The contest started at 8: 30 p.m. of April 30 and ended at 1:30 a.m. of May 1.

5) Binibini No. 12 Angelique Celine de Leon, on her third try, still failed to crack the semis.
