Ai-Ai delas Alas abstains from sex for now

Comedy Queen Ai Ai delas Alas has said that she avoided having sex with her partner Gerald Sibayan for now since she became a Papal awardee in October 2016.

"Celibate po ako alam mo naman yan. Noon ni-require sa akin ni best friend ni Fr. Eric nung tumanggap ako ng Papal award. Sabi nya sa akin, 'Nene, I think mag-abstain ka muna from sex.' Sabi ko 'Sige po Father. Bago n'yo pa po sinabi dinesisyunan ko na 'yun nung nalaman ko na papal awardee ako," said delas Alas during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS-CBN.

"Sinabi ko na kay Gerald na wag muna," delas Alas said.

Asked about Sibayan's reaction, the comedienne said: "Tinanggap naman n'ya ng maluwag and that's why I think isa yun sa dahilan kung bakit isa sya sa sign."


She said that her celibacy period will last until she gets married to Sibayan.

Abunda asked delas Alas about the date of her wedding to Sibayan.

"Sa America sa November ngayon taon. Pero yung dito sa PIlipinas, 2018 pa. Ninong ka dun di ba? Wala pang buwan pero 2018," she said.

Delas received the Pro Ecclesia Et Pontifice (For the Church and Pope) Medal from the Vatican for her service for the Catholic Church.

She also said that contentment with her relationship with Sibayan brought spark in her life these days.


"Siguro yung contentment. Isa na rin yung relationship ko kay Gerald. Kuntento na ako. Feeling ko ito na yung bigay sa akin," delas Alas said.

Delas Alas, 52, recalled how Sibayan proposed to her.

"Isang gabi, parang ininis nya talaga ako eh, Naiinis talaga ako sa kanya nung gabi na yun kasi niloloko n'ya ako. Hindi pwedeng sabihin eh. Tapos may kinuha sya dun sa cabinet. Tapos ayan, will you marry me?" she said. 

"Yun ang tutoo dun pero sinabi ko na lang nun na isang gabi ginising n'ya ako pero ang tutoo ininis nya talaga ako nun," delas Alas added.


She also said that her children are in good terms with Sibayan, 23.

"Ang mga bata lahat sila OK kay Gerald. Gusto nila si Gerald lalo na si Sancho talagang pro-Gerald yun. Si Sofia and Nikki kasi nasa America. So busy sila. Si Sofia naman nag-aaral, si Nikki nagta-trabaho, 12 hours ang trabaho nya. So kumustahan na lang sa Viber at saka sa FaceTime. Pero si Sancho kasama ko sa bahay," delas Alas said.
