John Raspado wins Mr Gay World 2017

John Raspado of the Philippines was crowned Mr. Gay World 2917 during a contest among 21 gay men held in Madrid, Spain last May 10.

Raspado also won special awards Best Formal Wear, Best in Swimwear, Best in Interview, Mr. Social Media and Mr. Popularity.

First runner-up honors went to Candido Arteaga of Spain; Raf van Puuymbroeck of Belgium, 2md runner-up; Alexander Steyn, South Africa, 3rd runner-up; and Marco Tornese, Switzerland, 4th runner-up.



Raspado, 36, has earlier promised to bring home the title.

"I will be showcasing a different John Raspado. I have tons of supporters around the world. Yun siguro ang pinaka edge ko," said Raspado before he left for Spain.

Raspado was trained under the Kagandahang Flores beauty camp headed by Rodgil Flores. It is the same team who groomed 2017 Bb. Pilipinas Universe Rachel Peters, the country's representative to the 2017 Miss Universe beauty pageant later this year.


"Ang dami ko ng preparations simula ng nanalo ako bilang Mr. Gay World Philippines. Diet din ako. You have to prepare physically, mentally and emotionally," said Raspado when asked about his preparations for the contest.

The hunky Filipino from Baguio City earlier said that he offers his stint at 2017 Mr Gay World contest to his mother. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
