Richard Gutierrez joins Kapamilya network

Actor Richard Gutierrez is now a Kapamilya after he signed a movie and television contract with ABS CBN today, May 31.

"I'm very happy and excited to be here finally. I'm very thankful to ABS-CBN for this opportunity and for the trust. Ang sarap ng pakiramdam na nandito ako ngayon. I consider this a new journey and a new chapter, parang nagsisimula ako ulit," said Gutierrez, 33, when he talked to the reporters after he inked the contract.

Prior to that, Gutierrez was cast as one of the stars in a still untitled film with Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban under Star Cinema.

It was also announced that Gutierrez will appear on the new primetime teleserye "La Luna Sangre" starring Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.

His partner, Sarah Lahbati, has already moved to ABS CBN.

Lahbati is rumored to play Valentina, the villain in the latest film version of "Darna" to be portrayed by teen actress Liza Soberano.

For many years, Gutierrez was part of GMA 7 before he transferred to other networks.

Before ABS CBN, the actor signed up for TV5 where he starred in the television version of "Ang Panday." - ROBERT REQUINTINA
