Britney Spears arrives in Manila for concert

American pop icon Britney Spears arrived in Manila at noon today, June 15, to stage her one-night only concert at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City at 8 tonight.

“First time in the Philippines! Can’t wait for tonight’s show in Manila,” tweeted Spears, who came from Taiwan where she staged her last concert.

Spears, 35, arrived in a casual outfit on board her private plane at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Then she boarded a white car towards an undisclosed hotel to prepare for her concert.

ABS CBN reports said that security was tight with the airport personnel not allowed to go near the aircraft.

Some 500 policemen will also surround the concert venue tonight.

With net worth of more than US$500 million, Spears is one of the top-selling artists in the world with hits "... Baby One More Time," "Womanizer," "Sometimes," "Circus," etc.

She has been nominated for several Grammy Awards. On her eight nomination, she finally won Best Dance Recording for the song "Toxic."
