Tessa Le Conge in town for Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017 search

Reigning Miss Asia Pacific International Tessa Le Conge of The Netherlands arrived in the country on Monday, June 12, to promote the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017 beauty pageant which will be held in Manila later this year.

Le Conge will also help select the official candidates of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017 beauty pageant through various screenings nationwide, including Mindanao.


"I'm excited to be back here. I hope everything will be safe there in Mindanao," said Le Conge during an interview with members of the press upon her arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Paranaque City.


Back home, the Dutch-Indonesian beauty queen said that she took part at the Cinex International Film Festival where she was chosen to be the face of the event. "I was on billboards and I helped awarded the winners of the film festival."

Asked if she would like to join the movies soon, Le Conge said: "That's something I would like to do next year. So maybe."

The international beauty queen would be staying in the country for three weeks. She said said that she is thrilled to explore the Philippines once again.


"Last time, I only traveled to four islands, But the Philippines is big, of course.This time, I'll be travelling to different islands and meet different people and see different cultures," she said.

Mayenne Vijandre, administrative manager of Mutya ng Pilipinas, said that local screenings will be held in various parts of the country.

"We will go to Negros Islands and Cagayan de Oro. Then we will also have screenings in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, Negros Island, Cebu and Davao. There will be screenings in south Luzon and Manila. The final screening will be on July 2,"  Vijandre said.


Vijandre also said that the Mutya ng Pilipinas Organization will soon tie-up with the Tourism Promotion Board in promoting the pageant and Philippine tourism here and around the world.

Le Conge will relinquish her crown in the upcoming Miss Asia Pacific International beauty contest sometime in November this year. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
