Richard Poon, Maricar Reyes tackle relationship woes

Real-life couple crooner Richard Poon and actress Maricar Reyes have admitted that one of the issues they fight about as a couple is money.

The couple revealed this during the promotion of their book entitled "10 Things We Fight About" on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN recently.

Reyes narrated to Abunda how she and her husband tackle issue about money.

"A friend was borrowing money constantly. To the point na sa akin na sya tumatakbo. That was not healthy anymore for our relationship," she said.

"Ilang taon na eh. Little by little. By the time na nagkakilala kami, parang ang laki na ng amount. So ang dami na through a series of years. So sabi ko sa kanya kailangan ng humindi," said Poon.

"Eh sya napakabait. Pag umiyak yung kaibigan nya, pagbibigyan nya," he added.

Reyes said: "Actually pina-realize nya sa akin na there's a way to keep the relationship with a person but not involve money. Kasi tutal may history naman."

The couple said that the book was inspired by their posts on blog.

"The book started as an idea from our blogs. Our manager said that it was a good idea to write about something real. Something that's very close to our heart. And one of those things is the conflict that we go through," said Reyes.

Poon said: "One time nag blog kami ng conflict about money. And then ang dami ng comments, so dun na nag umpisa."

"In terms of money, I was the one corrected that time. Yung philosophy ko about money was a little flawed. Masyadong soft," said Reyes.

Poon married Reyes in Muntinlupa City in 2013.

As a crooner, Poon has recorded CDs and staged concerts. Reyes, on the other hand, is an actress who appears in movies and television. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
