Jaime V. Acosta clears issues

Jaime V. Acosta, president and founder of Psalmstre Inc., maker of the popular New Placenta soap and other beauty products, has issued a statement in connection with the controversy surrounding his company.

The full text of the statement was read by Acosta during a press conference held in  Taytay, Rizal last September 8:

"We welcome all of you and we thank you for accepting our invitation to our press conference today. I will make this statement short. Running four companies can be quite challenging. We started small but with time-tested management concept, we have grown into four companies , and each has taken in its very core my own guiding principles in life - hard work, diligence, thirst to learn new things, and giving heart to any job.

"Nagsimula rin akong payak, pero may malaking pananalig sa kakayahan ng tao. My humble beginnings are my strongest driving force to pursue my goals and aspirations. However, what I consider to be my biggest accomplishments are not built on material things but the values, respect to people regardless of gender, age, and cultural background , mentoring raw talents with great potentials, among many others.

"The episode of Raffy Tulfo In Action that you may have seen did not in any way represent my vision for my companies, nor the exact reality. Thanks to social media, I had the chance to air my side. Siguro po, walang tatagal sa aming kumpanya nang higit a sa sampung taon kung wala kaming puso.

"I came from an advertising and public relations background at alam ko ang kahalagahan ng Community Social Responsibility which my company does a few times a year. Kung sa komunidad ay nagagawa naming magbahagi ng aming mga blessings, sa sariling bakuran pa kaya namin?

"I am proud to share with you that our companies have been a part of lives of a number of young men and women who completed their college education and are now certain to have a better shot in life. One fine example is Rosherine Bautista, whom you may have seen in our previous shows. Rosherine has finished Accountancy in PSBA. We are also committed to help her for her Board Exam review.

"One former Showbiz Sosyal contributor, who then went on to work as a Feature Writer for Star and Manila Bulletin is now a sub-editor of Travel Now Magazine. Jamile Domingo graduated in UST and has travelled the Philippines and foreign countries doing her job. Dalawa lamang po ito sa ilan pang naging bahagi ng educational assistance mula sa aming mga kumpanya.

"Closer to home, sa aming pong bakuran, I may demand from employees the best effort in every job but my heart remains for them. Nothing makes me happier than to see them step up the corporate ladder no matter how meager their beginnings were. And on a personal note, masaya akong sabihin sa inyo na karamay din ang aming mga kumpanya sa mga pagsubok na kinaharap nila.

"Business confidence and top performance are truly important to us. But also equally important is the human touch na kahit kailan ay hindi nawaglit sa amin. Kaya naman sa aming mga valued employees, sa aming mga suppliers at sa mga retail partners, at iba pang stakeholders, makakaasa kayo na patuloy naming pangangalagaan ang ating samahan at kumpanya sa isa't-isa.

"We may have have been dealt a slight blow in our corporate image, but we have bigger, grander and greater things to thank for. Kasama na dito ang mga business plans namin which I would be glad to discuss with you today.  Muli, maraming salamat." - ROBERT REQUINTINA
