The Tanglawan Festival 2017 kicked off in San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan with songs, dances and beautiful faces.

Mayor Arturo Robes and wife Congresswoman Florida Robes welcomed guests at the launch of the annual festival which coincides with the 17th anniversary of San Jose del Monte.

OPM hitmakers Chad Borja, Richard Reynoso, Renz Verano and Rannie Raymundo opened the program with a lively set of memorable Filipino songs that wowed the crowd throughout the show.


Tanglawan Festival was successfully launched in 2016 during the 16th city anniversary celebration of the City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan by the Robes couple in cooperation with the city government employees, barangay officials and civic society organizations.


Rep. Robes envisions the Rising City of San Jose del Monte to serve as beacon to the San Joseños, bringing about economic development and opportunities to the city to uplift the lives of every San Joseños.



A street dance competition featuring colorful costumes and energetic beats kept the whole event vibrant and vivacious.



One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the official candidates for Mr and Ms Tanglawan 2017 contest. The grand finals of the pageant will be held on Saturday, September 9.


Several activities were lined for the week-long Tanglawan Festival 2017 which will end on Sunday, Sept. 10.  - ROBERT REQUINTINA
