Gabby Concepcion on Duterte gaffe: 'We all make mistakes'

Kapuso actor Gabby Concepcion laughed off the mistake committed by President Rodrigo Duterte who made reference to him in one of his speeches recently.

"We all make mistakes. Thankyou for watching Ika 6 na Utos sir President. #DU30 #ika6nautos," said Concepcion on Instagram.

At the 120th anniversary of the Department of Justice held at the Philippine International Convention Center, Duterte said in his speech: :“Ikaw? Gabby Concepcion, mukha kang pera, p*****ina ka. E, totoo man. E, sus."

It turned out that Duterte was referring to Gabby Lopez, chairman and CEO of the giant network ABS-CBN Corporation.

But Duterte mentioned the name of the Kapuso actor in his talk.

The gaffee became one of the trending topics on social media.

"Na ospital bigla dahil sa mistaken identity #mistaken #accident #ikaanimnautos #stray #wrong #wrongtarget #philippines," said Concepcion in a series of posts on Instagram.

Concepcion, who just won the Asian Star Prize at the 12th Seoul International Drama Awards in South Korea, is said to be a supporter of Duterte.

Concepcion is the star of the popular afternoon teleserye "Ika-6 Na Utos" on the Kapuso network.

The President corrected himself in the succeeding statement of the same speech.

"I know, because when I ran for President, not a lot of people donated money for my campaign. So last minute…you listen, Gabby Lopez. I placed an advertisement [in ABS-CBN. You accepted my P2 million and you never showed my advertisement.”

“You accept my money with nothing to show for it. You keep on receiving money in the name of greed. And yet you talk as if…you talk trash of the government…paint us as corrupt. Excuse me. I am not that kind. I would not have survived,” said Duterte in his talk. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
