Mark Herras, Winwyn Marquez share views on marriage

Kapuso actor Mark Herras has admitted that he and his girlfriend newly crowned Reina Hispanoamericana winner Teresita "Winwyn" Marquez are already talking marriage.

Herras made the revelation in an exclusive interview at the homecoming party for Marquez at Anabel's Restaurant in Quezon City recently.

"We have this standing joke nuon na kapag nanalo ako, sabi nya, may one more year or two more years para mag-ipon," the actor-model said. (We have this standing joke that we still have one or two more years to save).

"Siguro sulitin muna n'ya ang pagkapanalo nya at mga projects na mapupunta sa kanya," he said. "Pag medyo ramdam na nila na pwede na kami mag settle down, siguro pwede na. Wala namang masama,"

(I think Winwyn still needs to focus on her responsibilities as beauty queen and attend to the projects. If we feel that it is the right time, then we will settle down).

Herras, 30, has been in a relationship with Marquez for more than a year now.

They started off as friends and bumped into each other on various shows on GMA 7. The last time they worked for a project was for the television series "Hiram na Puso."

Asked about the qualities he likes most about her, Herras said: "She's not a showbiz person. When she talks, she's very calm. She's very nice and educated. She likes to help people."

Earlier, actress Alma Moreno said that her daughter Winwyn is of age now to get married but advised her to enjoy being single first.

"Nasa edad na si Winwyn. She's 25. Nasa sa kanya na 'yun (kung kelan s'ya magpapakasal). Basta handa na sya. Ang advice ko sa kanya, i-enjoy nya ang pagka single. Kasi pag nag-asawa ka na, maiiba na ang mundo mo," Moreno said. (She's of age now. She's 25. It's up to her when she wants to get married. She should be ready. My advice is to enjoy being single first. Your world will change if are you are married).

Herras said he was watched the live stream of the Reina Hispanoamericana pageant which was held in Bolivia.

He added that he was only able to congratulate his girlfriend three hours after the pageant.

Asked about his victory gift for Marquez, Herras said: "Nothing special. I just gave her her favorite carnation flowers."

Herras also said that he hopes to have a simple date with his girlfriend soon after she has arranged her schedule. "It will be a normal date."

Marquez, who wants to be known as Teresita Marquez and not Winwyn, thanked all her supporters on her journey to the beauty pageant. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
