Ai-Ai delas Alas and Gerald Sibayan in Japan for honeymoon



Kapuso star Ai-Ai delas Alas and Gerald Sibayan got married during a star-studded ceremony at the Christ the King church in Greenmeadows, Quezon City last Dec. 12.

Ai-Ai and Gerald are now in Japan for their honeymoon.

Ai-Ai walked down the aisle wearing an off-shoulder white wedding gown created by Frederick Peralta while director Louie Ignacio hand-painted the wedding veil of the comedienne. Seven bishops officiated the wedding.



Among the principal sponsors were Sen. Richard Gordon, former Gov. Chavit Singson, former Vice President Jejomar Binay; GMA 7 chairman and chief executive officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon Jr.; T.A.P.E. Inc. and CEO Tony Tuviera, talent manager Lolit Solis, producer Marivin Arayata; producer Lily Monteverde-Teo, who was represented by Roselle Monteverde; and Ana Puno.

Secondary sponsors were celebrity couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera; Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna; Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez.


Sharon Cuneta was the matron of honor while Alden Richards was the Best Man.

The groomsmen and bridesmaids were Piolo Pascual, Pops Fernandez, Rufa Mae Quinto, Marvin Agustin, Bayani Agbayani, Jose Manalo, Barbie Forteza, Nikki Valdez, and Valeen Montenegro.

Ai-Ai and Gerald announced their engagement in April.


The decision came after Ai-Ai said yes to the marriage proposal of Gerald who asked her to marry him through a red heart-shaped piece of paper. On the paper wrote "Will You Marry Me?"

Gerald also gave Ai-Ai a Frappucino with the words "Can you be my misis?"

Ai-Ai, 53, said "yes" which she wrote on the palm of her hand.


In July 2016, Ai-Ai  announced on IG that she is single again after the court granted her petition to divorce her former husband Jed Salang

Ai-Ai and Jed got married in Las Vegas on April 3, 2013. But they separated after one month following claims from the comedienne that she was physically abused.

Gerald is a former star player of the De La Salle University Badminton team.


In 2012, Gerald was named “Rookie of the Year” by University Athletic Association of the Philippines.

Gerald, 23, is currently taking up Sports Management at DLSU and he also dreams of becoming a pilot.

Ai-Ai has acted as manager of the DLSU badminton team. Gerald met Ai-Ai through Sancho, son of the comedienne, who also studies at DLSU.


Previously, Ai-Ai was married to actor-singer Miguel Vera with whom they have two children. She has another son from a previous relationship.

Ai-Ai recently starred in the hit movie "Our Mighty Yaya." She currently appears on Kapuso programs "Sunday PinaSaya" and "Bossing and Ai." - ROBERT REQUINTINA
