Sharon Cuneta sentimental over Makati City residence

Megastar Sharon Cuneta celebrated her 52nd birth anniversary last January 6 as she got sentimental again over her old residence in an upscale neighborhood in Makati City.

On the eve of her birth anniversary last Jan. 5, Sharon paid tribute to her late parents -- Pasay City Mayor Pablo Cuneta and Elaine Gamboa.

"Pablo and Elaine Gamboa - Cuneta’s girl. Miss you, Daddy and Mommy. I am turning a year older tomorrow, and I wish you both were still here to make my happiness complete. See you again someday," Sharon wrote on Facebook.

Then she turned sentimental over their former house in Dasmarinas Village in Makati City where she grew up.

"I hope you are proud of me and Kuya and our children. Kuya and I wish we could buy our Dasma house back, but the new owners are already building a completely new structure and our beloved 40 + year old home is gone. Still...someday... Hug me often please. I love you both very much," Sharon said.

During an appearance on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN in June 2017, Sharon got emotional when she revealed that she did not inherit anything from her parents.

"My parents trusted the wrong people and I am angry...My mom, a nurse of hers, stole the money that came from the sale of our house from DasmariƱas where we grew up. I mean, wala kaming minana;

"I miss you, daddy. I miss you so much. I miss my life with you. I miss our house in Dasma, I miss being your child. I miss, little Sharon. I miss Sharon in her 20s. I miss you, mama. ...I miss being free to be me," said Sharon.

That time, Sharon also admitted she had debts as a businesswoman but money was never a problem to her.

"My investments cost 8 to 9 figures and it's not easy to sell something that costs P150 million. That's like $3 million. I have enough. I am sorry and I don't mean to brag, I am not bankrupt. I have been a billionaire before I married Kiko (Pangilinan)," Sharon said in the same interview last year.

"Ibig lang sabihin lang ng, 'I owe so much money and there's no one to help me' -- ang parang ano ko lang, 'kung nandito lang ang daddy ko,' ang dami niyang tinulungan yumaman, tapos wala pala akong malalapitan," Sharon added.

*Simple celebration

Fresh from the success of her latest film "Unexpectedly Yours" with Robin Padilla, Sharon celebrated her 52nd birth anniversary with a simple dinner with her family and close friends from show business.

Aside from flowers, Sharon's friends gave donations to the victims of Marawi City as their birthday gifts to her.

"More gifts for Marawi!!! Thank you so much my beloved friends and Team Sharon!!! I Love you all!" said Sharon in one of her posts as she showed several envelopes containing donations for Marawi City.

Sharon was also showered with birthday greetings from her daughters KC Concepcion and Frankie Pangilinan.

“Who is this beautiful woman standing in full bloom at 52?? She makes all our lives sooo extremely colorful! Happy happy birthday Mama. When you’re on my side, I feel like I can achieve anything. I hope I do all the right things to keep you proud & on my side forever. Let yourself bloom where you are as time goes by - don’t let anything get you down & you better not lose your excitement for life!!! It’s contagious!  Let’s have dinner tonight, I’ll pop the champagne. Love you Mama!!!” said KC on Instagram.

Frankie also posted on IG: "Happy birthday to this flawless young lady, I’m really obsessed with you and I think I will be forever. Love you endlessly mama ko.”

Sharon will return to the concert scene for the "Sharon Cuneta 40th Mega Philippine Tour Cebu Leg" at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino on January 13 at 8 p.m. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
