Eimeverlee Avellano-Canimo: The pride of Alabat, Quezon

Thirteen-year-old Eimeverlee Fren Avellano-Canimo is growing up to be an achiever as a beauty queen. And it won't be long when the teen queen also becomes a national pride.

After she won the Ginoo and Binibining Kalikasan 2018 pageant in Baguio City recently, Eimeverlee has become an inspiration to young girls who also dream of becoming a beauty queen like her.

In November 2017, Eimeverlee represented the CALABARZON Region in the contest. She became the pride of her school and brought honor again to the entire when she edged out nine other regional candidates in the pageant.

Eimeverlee impressed the crowd and the judges during the question-and-answer portion where she truly proved she is worthy of the title. She flawlessly explained them the cause and effects of illegal logging in the country.

Her remarkable answer in the crucial Q&A portion earned her the Miss Intelligence special award. Other special awards she received were Best in Talent, Best in Sportswear, and Best in Evening Gown.

Carlos Iñigo Navarrate Anton, from Baguio City, won Mr. Kalikasan. Carlos is the youngest drag racer champion holder in the Philippines.

ASEP also recognized Gab Lagman as the new Youth Ambassador for the Environment. He assisted the chairwoman of the organization in crowning the new Ginoo at Binibining Kalikasan 2018 both for public and private schools, who will also serve as ambassadors and ambassadresses of the organization. The organization promotes environmental awareness and preservation in order to reduce global warming brought about by climate change.

After Eimeverlee captured the Bb. Kalikasan 2018 in the private school division, the municipality of Alabat, Quezon had feted her with a grand homecoming with her follow representative from Quezon, Branden Luis Martinez Santiago who won 1st Runner Up in Ginoong Kalikasan 2018.

Alabat Island National High School had initiated and led the homecoming which was participated in as well by Mater Carmeli Catholic School.

Natives of Alabat warmly welcomed the young queen and king who brought pride to their lineage. The parade around the poblacion took an hour which started at the Alabat Island National High School and ended up with a courtesy call to Municipal Mayor, MGen Fernando L. Mesa (retired).

Mesa had warmly expressed his pride for the young king & queen as a form of contribution to their municipality.

The success of Eimeverlee had truly opened new opportunities for the young beauty queen aspirants of Alabat as the municipal mayor had plan to start the search for a beauty queen from their very own municipality which initially planned for its town fiesta in July.

After the successful parade and the courtesy call to the Municipal Mayor at high noon, Eimeverlee sat as chairwoman of the board of judges in the inaugural Mr. & Miss Alabat Island National High School with her personal designer, Roy Aquino, among others. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
