At the same time we should also consider in protecting the environment . Sometimes we just want to earn money but we forget to protect our nature and conserve our environment," said Col. Ricardo L. Nolasco Jr., a retired officer of the Philippine Air Force.

Asked about his impressions of this year's batch, Nolasco said: It's much, much better than before. We went around the country and underwent go-sees. So most of them are looking-fresh. I'm happy that aspiring candidates from the provinces are given the chance to compete in this contest."

Nolasco, head of the resorts federation, cited the recognitions received by Hannah's from prestigious groups. "I am proud to say that Hannah's Beach Resort and Convention in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte has reaped awards. It also holds the distinction as the only Philippine institution accepted for membership with the United Nations World Tourism Organization and the International Eco-Tourism Society in recognition of the resort's accomplishments in the fields of tourism ad community development."
