PHL smashes world record for largest zumba class

The Philippines now holds the record for the largest zumba class after some 100 zumba instructors in the country led by Ron Antonio kept a crowd of 13,350 fitness enthusiasts dancing for 30 minutes.

The record was achieved in Camarines Sur through the efforts of Governor Migz Villafuerte last May 19, 2018.

The challenge was not only for Ron to keep the crowd dancing for 30 minutes and in sync with the music and the choreography of the instructors but also to overcome the forces of natures and all factors that he cannot control.


During the registration at the provincial capitol grounds, it rained so hard. But the crowd patiently waited for hours rain or shine.

With prayers and God’s grace, a new Guinness World Record was achieved. Despite the stress and hardship, the event was successful.

Asked about his accomplishment, Ron said that is was always a blessing from God when you achieved something as big as this one.



The Guinness World Record is another feather on Ron’s cap. Ron Antonio is known for his numerous achievements who through his innovations and creative flare resulted to the birth of “Zayaw  Pilipinas."

Zayaw Pilipinas is a result of Ron Antonio’s desire to raise the level of his events. Ron made his events very concert-like and very entertaining. Who would have thought that a normal exercise would have its own music and it is original Filipino music through the album released under MCA Universal Music. Ron, being a recording artist, uses his own music and he definitely sings in between his performances.

On July 14, Ron and thousands of Zumba enthusiasts will gather at the Philippine International Convention Center to celebrate his latest achievement.


Dubbed "Zayaw Pilipinas Victory Party," the event is presented by Tatiomax Glutathione and Oh So Healthy as the Major Sponsor. Pocari Sweat as the Official Hydration Partner. Ron will also be pre-releasing his 2nd dance album entitled “Pinas Zayaw” on July 14. The crowd will have the chance to hear and dance with Ron to the tune of the new tracks of his album.
