Pageant expert gives wishes to 'Kagandahang Flores' queens

Pageant guru Rodgil Flores says the Kagandahang Flores beauty camp will continue to innovate and upgrade its training skills for girls in a bid to win more pageant crowns here and abroad.

"Personally, as long as maraming lumalapit, nagpapatulong na maging national and eventually maging international beauty queen sila, KF will still be there. As a camp, we are constantly upgrading," says Flores when asked about the future of his beauty camp during an interview in Quezon City recently.

He adds: "Lahat kami trying on new learnings. That’s trial and error. For us trainers, the challenge is to really come up with new techniques. We are also intensifying our training for men."

Flores describes the KF queens as strong, determined and dedicated.

"I think what sets the KF queens apart is that they are strong, determined, dedicated. Ang training ko is pahirapan talaga. So yung spirit nila to win this fight and to reach the end goals given to them by KF camp is to really excel in pageants," he says.

Rachel Peters (Miss Universe Philippines 2017) - "I know what she really wants talaga. Rachel is into sports, she loves nature, she loves animals, she loves going to the beach. My wish is continued happiness. Balance naman kasi siya eh. She can do her career, her personal life. I wish her long-lasting happiness. Naiinggit nga ako sa kanya kasi naba-balance niya everything."

Angelia Ong (Miss Earth 2015) - "She has always been driven sa career niya. More career opportunities for her."

Bea Rose Santiago (Miss International 2013) - "To become healthy. We all know recently na she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. She’s in the process of healing herself. My wish would be back to the pinkiest of health."

Karen Ibasco (Miss Earth 2017) - "Now that she will be turning over her crown, my wish for her is sana love life naman. When she was studying sobrang devoted siya sa studies kaya sa academics niya, wala ka ng masasabi. When she ventured into pageant, kitang-kita ko ang effort niya. Sobra. Lalo na for Miss Earth. Talagang superb ang ginagawa niya. Gusto ko lang siyang magkaroon ng love life. No boyfriend siya since birth. Sana she opens up that side of her life na kailangan niya ng love life."

Janicel Lubina (Bb. Pilipinas International 2015) - "I am happy for her. She’s engaged right now. Parang alam na rin ng lahat ang Cinderella story ni Janicel. Parang anak ko na rin si Janicel. I am happy because she found someone na talagang mahal na mahal siya. Two years yata yun, nagko-contemplate kami nas gusto niya ng pageant comeback. Until this guy came. Sabi ko sa kanya ‘yan na ang sagot ni Lord sa whatever plans you are contemplating with. So sabi ko sa kanya go ka na dyan!"

Maggie Wilson-Consunji (Binibining Pilipinas World 2007) - "Maggie has everything in life. Sana patuloy pa yun kasi Maggie is one of the rabid supporters of KF. Grabe siya mag suporta sa KF.  She takes care of the girls. She even allows them to stay with her. She stands as the Ate. She gives them advice, she really takes care of them, and even influencing them to go into sports. Naging athletic na rin sila. She really finds time kung paano niya sila alagaan."

I think tatapusin muna niya yung Miss Eco International until next year. She’s 23. But we are not pressuring her kasi naman malaking achievement na rin yung the first-ever Filipina na Miss Eco International. So sa kanya siguro discernment lang. Pero I’m not putting words into her mouth. May balak lang. Sinasabihan ko rin siya na mag showbiz siya. She’s fit naman kasi may artista persona naman siya."

Bianca Manalo (Miss Universe Philippines 2009) - "Yung incident na nangyari sa kanya, ako bilang nanay niya, na-over joy kami at na save sila. Sa showbiz career naman niya, OK naman because she belongs to the No. 1 television network. My wish for her is a happy married life. With her age it’s about time."

Karen Gallman (Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2018) - "I wish her as the first Filipina Miss Intercontinental. I think she’ll be one of the toughest candidates to beat."

Jamie Herrell (Miss Earth 2014) - "Sana mag-materialize na 'yung gusto niya na career. Bago siya naging beauty queen, she wanted to be a filmmaker. That’s what she really wanted. Pero nasa States na siya now. When she joined Miss Philippines-Earth, she wasn’t supposed to join but I convinced her. So she passed up her scholarship. Eventually after her reign, binigay pa rin yung scholarship."
