What will Catriona Gray wear at 2018 Miss Universe pageant?

Miss Philippines Catriona Gray says that she is is excited for the staging of the 2018 Miss Universe beauty pageant in Thailand on December 17.

"Sawasdee Ka Thailand!!! Soooo excited that the rumors are true and that it's finally official!!! @missuniverse to be held in Thailand, December 2018. So excited to go back to one of my favorite travel destinations!!" says Gray on Instagram.

Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart, accompanied by Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, made the announcement in Bangkok last July 31. Other guests at the Miss Universe press conference were former Miss Universe 1965 Apasra Hongsakula and Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova.

Shortly after the announcement, Gray paid tribute to the Kingdom of Thailand as she uploaded on her IG account a short video presentation created by Jolo Luarca III which saw the Filipino-Australian beauty queen promoting the Asian country as a travel destination.

This will be the third time that Thailand will host the prestigious pageant. It hosted the pageant in 1992 and 2005.

Thailand has already produced two winners – Apasra Hongsakula (1965) and Porntip Nakhirunkanok (1988).

Earlier, it was reported that the pageant would be held for the fourth time in the Philippines. Other countries which reportedly bid for the staging of the pageant this year include Macau and South Korea.

Rumors have it that Gray and other candidates have been chosen by organizers to promote the 2018 Miss Universe pageant in October.

Gray, 24, also hinted that she will wear the creations of Mak Tumang at the Miss Universe contest later this year.

"Always a dream wearing a @maktumang creation. Excited ako talaga for you all to see what we have planned for MU!" adds the Bicolana beauty queen on IG.

The Philippines has already produced three winners: Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973) and Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach (2015). - ROBERT REQUINTINA
