Miss Earth 2018 beauties share their heartfelt wishes

The Miss Earth 2018 beauty pageant is nearing homestretch as it almost wraps up its pre-pageant activities leading towards the grand coronation night on Nov. 3.

While the preliminary judging for BEAUTY of FACE and POISE is finished, the 87 candidates will hurdle  two more important pre-pageant activities: FIGURE and FORM Preliminary Judging (Century Park Hotel) on Oct. 29; and INTELLIGENCE and ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS Preliminary Judging (Diamond Hotel) on Nov. 1.

Prior to that, we asked 10 candidates of Miss Earth 2018 pageant under Water Group at random the question: "If God will grant you one wish, what would it be?"

Some of the candidates under the Water Group are delegates from Austria, Italy, Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Malta, Serbia, Ukraine, Bahamas, Guadaloupe, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Egypt, Ethiopia, Liberia, Reunion Island, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Israel, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Tonga.

They attended the meet-and-greet event sponsored by Jaime V. Acosta, President of Psalmstre Enterprises, Ic., maker of the popular New Placenta soap,  at Windsor Gardens Pavilion and Resort in Marikina City on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Here are their stirring wishes. - ROBERT REQUINTINA

Miss Bahamas Samia Lauryn McClain
"Wow! I would have to say I don't want to see my loved ones pass."

Miss Nigeria Maristella Okpala
"Happiness. In order to have a meaningful life, you have to be happy."

Miss Serbia Nina Jovanović
"My wish is to live in a place like this (Philippines). I wanna live in a small house near the beach, near the sea. Or somewhere in the middle of the jungle with lots of animals."

Miss Israel Dana Zreik
"My wish is for the children to keep their faith and strengthen it."

Miss Egypt Lamia Fathi
"If I win Miss Earth, I will help the campaign in my country and campaign against pollution, educate the people as much as I can on how to take care of our environment. I will also plant trees!"

Miss Cyprus María Armenáki
"I guess happiness and health for everyone. World peace! You don't think about these things everyday, somehow you take them for granted."

Miss Northern Ireland Christie van Schalkwyk
"That's a tough question. But I would ask Him to make things better in the world and ask everyone to respect Mother Earth."

Miss Mexico Melissa Flores
"I would like to say that everyone be comfortable with themselves. As a psychologist, I always focus on that part because it is so important for all of them to feel complete so that they can do all the activities."

Miss Brazil Sayonara Veras
"I would ask Him to keep the people I love alive! I'm very close to my parents and I am so scared for that to happen to me, you know! I am close to my mother, grandparents and the people I love. So I would ask Him to keep them alive as long as He can."

Miss Indonesia Ratu Vashti Annisa
"I would ask Him to open everyone's eyes for the capability of loving others as they love themselves. It's one of the biggest commandments He gives us but not everyone acts upon it."
