Regine Velasquez-Alcasid: Goodbye GMA-7, Hello ABS-CBN!

It's confirmed!

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is finally transferring to ABS CBN after two decades of stint on GMA 7.

This was confirmed by GMA-7's Senior Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth G. Rasonable in a statement released through GMA Corporate Communications Vice President Angel Javier-Cruz on Oct. 13.

Regine has not issued any official statement on her transfer to the rival network. But on Oct. 12, Asia's Songbird confirms it when she posted on Instagram that she is joining ASAP, the Sunday musical-variety themed show of ABS CBN, which will be held in Sydney, Australia on October 20. It was captioned: "See you guys in Sydney."

Reports say that Regine is transferring to the rival network to join her husband Ogie Alcasid who is now a contract star of the Kapamilya Network.

Except for ASAP, ABS-CBN did not say the other programs in which Regine will appear in the future.

The full statement read:

"After two decades, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid has officially said her goodbyes to the Kapuso Network.

"We understand her decision to join her husband and we wish her well as she pursues other opportunities outside GMA Network."
