Jessica Sanchez, Christian Bautista drop holiday song

Stages Talents Management announced last Nov. 5, that American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez has joined its stable of impressive and talented stars in the management agency.

"Stages Management is proud to announce that American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez is joining us and manage her career in the Philippine territory. I am so excited with this new deal and we're looking forward to work for with her for future projects," says Carlo Orosa, head of Stages Talents Agency, during an interview at Studio 28, Uptown Parade, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.

This as Sanchez and Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista have released an original holiday tune entitled "Another Silent Christmas Song" under Universal Records Philippines. It was written by two-time Tony, Grammy and Olivier winner Steven Sater ("Spring Awakening," "Twelfth Night"- Musical Series) and multi-platinum record producer-songwriter Bryan Todd.

"Personally I never had a silent Christmas. I'm  a very festive person when it comes to Christmas. I decorate the trees, wrap gifts. That's how festive my Christmas is. So right now, I cannot really relate to a silent Christmas but it's a beautiful song," says Sanchez, when asked if she already had a silent Christmas in her life and how she fought it, during an exclusive interview.

Bautista says: "Filipinos will surely love this new song because they can always relate to a sad Christmas song. Kung meron man akong naging silent Christmas, lagi siyang natatabunan ng pagmamahal ng pamilya. Usually I celebrate Christmas in Cavite. Pag Christmas, maraming pagkain, bata, etc. Nagkaroon na rin ako ng malungkot na Christmas, pero kung kasama mo pamilya mo, makakalimutan mo na 'yung lungkot."

"Pasko sa amin, merong Noche Buena, church service. The next day may Christmas party pa. Sa umaga, sa father side kami, then sa gabi naman sa mother side ang celebration," he adds.

The balladeer admits he hasn't experienced Christmas abroad but may do so if he starts his own family soon. "Baka maging ganun na 'yung tradition pero sa ngayon wala pa akong Christmas abroad."

In 2015, Sanchez initially collaborated with Bautista on the duet "Two Forevers," which was included in the latter's album, "Kapit". - ROBERT REQUINTINA
