Supermodel Tyra Banks still not over Lava Walk

More than one month after Catriona Gray was crowned 2018 Miss Universe in Bangkok, Thailand last Dec. 17, former supermodel-turned-television host Tyra Banks admits that she hasn't gotten over the Lava Walk of the Filipino-Australian beauty queen.

"Can’t stop thinking about that #LavaWalk," said Banks in her latest tweet which has been re-tweeted 1,561 times and garnered more than 11,000 likes on Jan. 10.

Banks made the latest reaction after Gray demonstrated the iconic Lava Walk to host Stephen Walker during an appearance on Celebrity Page Network in New York recently.

During her guesting, Gray taught Walker how to do her slow-mo turn. Walker successfully performed the Lava Walk. It was during the preliminary competition of the 2018 Miss Universe pageant when Gray introduced the Lava Walk.

Gray said that she was thrilled to receive a comment from Banks after the show. "Tutoo ba ito! And when I read, 'Oh my God!' It's just wow! And when one of the Indian newspapers published you're walk, this is insane," she said in an exclusive interview by host MJ Marfori of TV5 in Bangkok.

Banks, host of the popular US reality show "America's Next Top Model," commented on Twitter: "I mean....Pinoy Power to the Max!!!"

Vogue Magazine was also impressed with Gray's Lava Walk.

"It takes a lot for a pageant to feel fresh. The entire idea of a competition based primarily on looks is passé, but amid the spectacle of last night’s Miss Universe contest, something special happened. The night’s big winner, Catriona Gray, a 24-year-old model who represented the Philippines, took to the stage and delivered a runway stomp worthy of fashion month," a portion of the Vogue Magazine article read.

The article also said: "Memorable thanks to her confident stride and final twirl, the strut caught the attention of supermodel Tyra Banks, who retweeted the clip and added some America’s Next Top Model–esque commentary." - ROBERT REQUINTINA
