'Buhay Carinderia...Redefined' gets boost at media launch

Restaurateur Erwan Heussaff has been tapped to be the content creator of this year's "Buhay Carinderia....Redefined," a culinary event which aims to promote the best Filipino dishes. Tourism Promotions Board Chief Operating Officer Cesar Montano has honored 8 Filipino films that have showcased the beauty of the Philippines and have helped promote local tourism through movies. Movies honored were "Sakaling Hindi Makarating," directed by Ice Idanan and shot in Ilocos, Siquijor, Batanes; and Zamboanga; Ellen Ongkeko-Marfil's "Lakbay2Love," which showcases Timberland Heights and Benguet; "Camp Sawi," directed by Irene Villamor, set in Bantayan Island; "Patay na Si Hesus," directed by Victor Villanueva; "Apocalypse Child," set in Baler; "Siargao," directed by Paul Soriano, which showcases the island of the same name; "Requited," directed by Nerissa Picadizo, which features Mt. Online TPB video tilt sets launch at PHITEX on Aug. 31

The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) will have a soft launch of an online video contest on Aug. 31 which will highlight the reasons for “loving” to travel to any part of the Philippines. Open to both Filipino and foreign participants, the contest dubbed “Phil the Love” is expected to provide the various brand definitions to “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” based on the tourists’ own perspectives and experiences.
