Journalist Howie Severino arrested for incorrect use of face mask
Multi-awarded Kapuso journalist Howie Severino was arrested and then briefly detained after he reportedly pulled down his face mask to drink water while biking in Quezon City on July 8. Severino's arrest was initially reported by photojournalist Luis Liwanag who was also a member of the biking team. Liwanag also shared photos of the incident. Liwanag said on on post: "Journalist Howie Severino who momentarily pulled down dis mask for a drink, is apprehended by barangay officers and police and was brought to the amoranto stadium for a short seminar on proper use of face masks in public. About hundreds of persons including women and the elderly were brought in." Moments later, Severino gave his side about the apprehension.
