'Ang Probinsyano' extended until 2018



Good news to the fans of "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" primetime series!

The top-rating program starring Coco Martin on ABS-CBN has been extended until January 2018.

This was announced by ABS-CBN Chief Operating Officer of broadcast Cory Vidanes during the cast party held last Friday, April 21.

"We are extending the program 'Ang Probinsyano' until January 2018," said Vidanes, as the crowd cheered.

"Naniniwala po kami na you will keep the passion if we continue to be the best serye on air. Congratulations! All-time high 40 percent. Sino nakakagawa nyan?" added Vidanes.


Also in attendance during the announcement were ABS CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, actors Arjo Atayde, Yassi Pressman, Susan Roces, Eddie Garcia and child star Awra Briguela.

The action drama series, based on the 1997 movie of the late Fernando Poe Jr. with the same title, debuted on the Kapamilya Network September 28, 2015.

With the extension, "Probinsyano" will now hold the record for the longest-running primetime program of the 21st century. - ROBERT R. REQUINTINA
