27 single moms, married women compete in Mrs. Tourism Pageant 2019

Twenty-seven empowered single mothers and married women will compete for five titles in the Mrs. Tourism International 2019 pageant which will be held at the Tanghalang Pasigueno in Pasig City on Oct. 28. Pageant organizer Ovette Ricalde, also of Megastar Productions, said that the winners will become the faces and voices of the pageant's advocacy to stop racial discrimination and promote her own social platform. Titles up for grabs are Mrs. Tourism Earth, Mrs. Globe, Mrs Tourism International, Mrs. Tourism World, and Mrs. Tourism Universe. Ricalde said that pre-pageant activities on national costume, talent, and fun shoot were held in Tagaytay, Batangas, and Pangasinan. During kick-off ceremonies, the candidates paid a courtesy call to Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and to the city's Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office. National pageant director Ovette Ricalde, also known as Mother of All Pageants, announced the new tourism queens after they won the Mrs. Tourism 2018 beauty contest held at Dapitan City Cultural and Sports Complex in this city last Oct. 30. The new tourism queens are: Mrs. Tourism Universe 2018 Melany Andrea Ramirez  (New Zealand),  Mrs. Tourism World 2018 Lisa Smart-Campos (South Africa),  Mrs. Tourism International 2018 Yosiko Ojara Martha (Bolivia), Mrs. Tourism Globe 2018 Shivangi Dewang (India); and Mrs. Tourism Earth 2018 Nareesha Hitesh Dharwai (Singapore). Dr. Risa Caldoza-De Leon, owner of Vanity Skin Aesthetics Dermatology Clinic, is set to crown her successor at the Mrs. Tourism International 2018 beauty pageant in Dapitan City on Oct. 20. But she confirms that it is not the end of her stint in pageants. “After I turnover my crown, siguro quiet life first. And then bonding with my kids kasi the past two years have been very hectic. In 2020, I have to talk to Ovette (Ricalde) again. I might (join). For the last time na lang,” says the inspiring doctor-beauty queen. Reika Ootaka of Japan chooses to be crowned in Philippines

Reika Ootaka could have been crowned as Mrs. Tourism Ambassador 2018 in her native country. But she decided to hold her crowning ceremony in the Philippines where she describes the people as "warm and friendly." During a simple rite held at the Luxent Hotel in Timog, Quezon City last February 11, Reika also launched the 1st annual Mrs. Japan Tourism 2018 contest in which the four winners of the contest will represent Japan in competitions abroad. These pageants are Mrs. Tourism 2018 which will be staged in the City of Dapitan in the Philippines sometime in October; Mrs. International in Singapore in November; Mrs. Global United Pageant in Minnesota, USA, in July; and Mrs. Transcontinental 2018 in Houston, Texas, also in July. Armi Oliver Farinas vies for Mrs. Int'l Global Classic

A Filipino realtor who is based in Hawaii will represent the Philippines in the Mrs. International Global Classic pageant which will be held in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on January 26. Armi Oliver Farinas, 52, of Pangasinan, will compete for the title along with 30 other women from around the world in a pageant for empowered married women. Farinas and her husband Nestor have three children. She is currently completing her doctorate degree in business administration at the Liberty University in Virginia, USA. She said that she will finish her doctorate degree in two years. Farinas is no stranger to the world of beauty and fashion having engaged herself on similar projects when she was younger. Several candidates to the Mrs. Tourism 2017 beauty pageant gave their unsolicited advice to women who are victims of domestic violence. During press presentation for the candidates of Mrs. Tourism 2017 pageant held at the West Avenue Suites in Quezon City last Saturday, Mrs. Philippines Dr. Riza Caldoza de Leon said that battered wives should be empowered by keeping themselves busy. "As a doctor, I had patients who are battered especially the younger ones. Kasi s'yempre wala pang voice yan eh. They are under the thumbs of their husbands. So I would tell them that they have to empower themselves. The No. 1 thing that they can do is work because if they are not working, lahat hihingiin sa asawa. "But if they have money of their own, they can stand for their rights. And they have earning of their own. They will have the power to buy their own things, and gain that much needed self-confidence. Samantha Ricalde wins Teen Face Beauty International

Samantha Iris Libo-on Ricalde won 1st runner-up in the Teen Face of Beauty International contest held in New Delhi, India last September 25. Ricalde, 15, is a Grade 10 student at Angelicum College. Earlier, this teen from Binan, Laguna, who stands 5'8, won the Circle of 10- Walk To Fame contest. Friends know Ricalde as cheerful, thoughtful and approachable. She also loves volleyball and reading books. Samantha is the grand daughter of Ovette Ricalde, popularly known in the industry as Mother of All Pageants. Miss South Africa was declared Teen Face of Beauty International. Other winners were Miss Siberia, 2nd runner-up, Miss India, 3rd runner-up; and Miss Ecuador, 4th runner up. Other candidates who made it in the Top 20 semifinals were delegates from Estonia, Finland, Mexico, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Lesotho, Ukraine, Tonga, USA, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Spain, Russia and Denmark. Another pageant for married women dubbed Mrs. Tourism was launched at West Avenue Suites on West Avenue in Quezon City recently. Pageant organizer Ovette Ricalde said that the winner will be the face and voice of the pageant's advocacy to stop racial discrimination and promote her own social platform. Mrs. Tourism pageant will crown three queens: Mrs. Tourism Earth, Mrs. Tourism International and Mrs. Tourism Universe. "The winners will be known as 'Mothers Who Care for the World.' The contestants will take part in various preliminary competitions such as cooking and even changing diapers," said Ricalde. Some 35 delegates are expected to arrive in the Philippines for the inaugural pageant which will be held from October 17-27, 2017.
