Mariah Carey prepping the release of her first-ever memoir

Mariah Carey fans will be getting a long-awaited peek behind the curtain of her illustrious life with an upcoming memoir. The Meaning of Mariah Carey, written by the chanteuse with Michaela Angela Davis will be arriving on September 29, 2020. The memoir will be available as a physical copy via Andy Cohen Books and as an audiobook performed by the singer on Audible. The story will detail Carey's journey from her childhood all the way through her meteoric rise to superstardom, plus a breakdown of the rumors told about her in the media, including battles with gender and power dynamics, emotional abuse, embarrassments, failures and victories. Bandang Ney returns via new song 'Bahala Ka'

Bandang Ney has a new song called "Bahala Ka" which you can hear or download on Spotify. But first things first. Ney Dimaculangan wants to clarify something that the song is not alluded to his former band mates of 6Cyclemind. "It's not (about my former musical group). Kung babasahin mo ang lyrics, it's a typical scene of a guy pleasing his girl. Ginawa nating happy ending for the guy or kahit sino man. Positive pa rin para ma-boost ang morale," said Ney. Fans remember Ney as the frontman for 6Cyclemind who churned out the hit songs Upside Down, Aaminin Ko, Sige, Princesa,  etc. Ney said that he still play the old songs with his new bandmates during gigs just to remind the young ones about their hit songs. Crib: The next big thing in original Pilipino music

There's a new band in the music scene called Crib and they just launched their debut album. "Crib has been in the music scene for almost 10 years now. We are active in gigs. Now we have an album," says TJ Sarvida, lead vocals of the band, who is a dead ringer for actor Paulo Avelino, during an interview at the Metro Walk in Pasig City recently. Sarvida says that the band use to play back-up to some of the popular OPM artists aside from their nightly gigs prior to invading the mainstream music scene. "Our genre is sub-genre rock, also known as adult-oriented rock. Our influences include Toto, Michael McDonald, Hall and Oates, Christopher Cross, etc. For newer artists, our influences are Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran," adds Sarvida, a young entrepreneur. "Pag kinakanta na namin yung mga Tagalog songs, nagwawala na sila," ayon kay Juliet Sunot, isa sa mga miyembro ng Aegis, sa interview sa "Tonight With Boy Abunda" sa ABS CBN. Dagdag pa ni Juliet: "Sa sobrang enjoy nila, nagbabato sila ng tissue (sa stage). Ang nangyari, hindi na kami pinakanta ng may-ari ng mga original (songs) namin. Mga cover songs lang." PHL smashes world record for largest zumba class

The Philippines now holds the record for the largest zumba class after some 100 zumba instructors in the country led by Ron Antonio kept a crowd of 13,350 fitness enthusiasts dancing for 30 minutes. The record was achieved in Camarines Sur through the efforts of Governor Migz Villafuerte last May 19, 2018. The challenge was not only for Ron to keep the crowd dancing for 30 minutes and in sync with the music and the choreography of the instructors but also to overcome the forces of natures and all factors that he cannot control. During the registration at the provincial capitol grounds, it rained so hard. But the crowd patiently waited for hours rain or shine. With prayers and God’s grace, a new Guinness World Record was achieved. Despite the stress and hardship, the event was successful. Music lovers flocked to Las Piñas City to enjoy the symphony of voices from all over the country in the 4th Las Piñas Chorale competition sponsored by the Villar SIPAG (Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance). Amid the day’s melodies and tunes, Sen. Cynthia A. Villar expressed delight over the animated participation of choral groups nationwide in the annual competition, where seven groups showcased their talents in singing. ‘My heart is filled with pleasure over the successful turnout of this event. In fact, Reid has come up with his own music label called "Careless Music" where he is the Chief Executive Officer and President. "I wanna have my own record label so that I can have my own creative freedom," said Reid, during an interview on Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN. "It started as an inside joke. A lot of people call me careless so I decided to use it." OPM singer Jed Madela has admitted that there was a point in his career that he wanted to give up because he thought he felt "irrelevant." "There was a point I kinda felt irrelevant. I kinda felt insignificant. Ang daming naglalabasang bago, ang daming naglalabasan na mas magaling, mas nakakagat ng audience," said Madela, during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN. After 23 years, the holiday tune "All I Want for Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey has finally hit the Top 10 of the hottest songs in the US. The classic holiday song, penned and produced by Mariah, leaped from No. 11 to No. 9, according to Billboard Magazine for the week of December 30. A duet version of the song with Justin Bieber peaked at No. 86 on the Hot 100 singles chart. Released on Nov. 1, 1994, the song has already earned US$60 million in royalties. It was lifted from her first holiday CD called "Merry Christmas" which also came out in 1994.
