Bandang Ney returns via new song 'Bahala Ka'

Bandang Ney has a new song called "Bahala Ka" which you can hear or download on Spotify.

But first things first. Ney Dimaculangan wants to clarify something that the song is not alluded to his former band mates of 6Cyclemind.

"It's not (about my former musical group). Kung babasahin mo ang lyrics, it's a typical scene of a guy pleasing his girl. Ginawa nating happy ending for the guy or kahit sino man. Positive pa rin para ma-boost ang morale," said Ney.

Fans remember Ney as the frontman for 6Cyclemind who churned out the hit songs Upside Down, Aaminin Ko, Sige, Princesa,  etc.

Ney said that he still play the old songs with his new bandmates during gigs just to remind the young ones about their hit songs.

"Kinakanta pa rin naman ang mga old hits ng 6Cyclemind para maalala nila at sabihin, 'ahhh sila pala iyung kumanta nun!" he said.

Other members of Bandang Ney are: Patch Sanchez, guitars; Louie Lopez, bass guitar; Arvee Escobedo, guitars; and Kervi Capin, drums.

Ney refused to discuss details why he left 6Cyclemind during the listening party for the press.

But when asked if he is ready to unite with his former group, Ney said: "Hindi na muna. Focus muna ako sa new group ko. Tignan natin kung ano ang mangyayari."

Ney also said the band is open for collaborations with solo artists.

"Ang daming magagaling ngayon hindi lang sa mainstream. Of course, kung may magandang materials, open kami for collaboration with them," he said.

Ney has one important unsolicited advice to emerging artists.

"Gawa lang ng gawa ng songs. Huwag na muna ninyong isipin kung yayaman ba kayo o hindi sa pagkanta. Hindi mo namamalayan yung kantang ginawa mo trending na pala," Ney said.

He added: "Kanta Pa rin ang unahin nila not the fame or fortune. Yung iba kasi I want to be famous agad. If you want to make a good song, you're on the right track." - ROBERT REQUINTINA
