Valenzuela cop wins Mister Working Men International 2019 in Thailand

A police officer from Valenzuela City who nearly quit because he met an accident in Makati City won the inaugural Mister Working Men International in Bangkok, Thailand. Corporal Willy Quinto bested male professionals from around the world during the competition. Quinto said that the Mister Working Men International 2019 pageant would be his final stint in pageantry because "we're not getting any younger." Previously, Quinto competed in national pageants such as Mister and Miss Philippines, Misters of Filipinas, and Mr. World Philippines. In 2016, Quinto was named the best-looking policeman when he was named the grand winner of Gwapulis 2016 contest in ABS-CBN's morning show "Umagang Kay Ganda." Quinto, dubbed the "Dancing Cop," won house and lot and year's supply of groceries. Trainees finish training for construction courses

Cynthia Villar informed trainees who  finished the construction painting and welding courses under the TESDA Training for Work Scholarship Program that their new skills and training opened up several opportunities to them amid the booming construction industry in the country. Due to the demand for construction jobs, Villar said the Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance (Villar SIPAG) has built five construction schools all over the country. They also bring construction training courses to the communities via mobile construction schools.

Cory tells millennials: 'Think before you post'

Mutya President Cory Quirino has one piece of advice to millennials joining pageants: think before you post. "Be very careful. What you do now, especially for the millennials joining other pageants, what you do today, what you post today, is going to haunt you tomorrow," said Quirino when asked about girls who dream of joining pageants, during a press send-off for Cyrille Payumo at CWC Interiors, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City. Payumo will represent the Philippines at the Miss Tourism International 2019 pageant in Malaysia on Nov. 8. She left Oct. 23 for the competition. "There are times you are faced with the challenge of reaching your dreams, because of what you did in the past, many pageant organizers, if not most, can be lenient and understanding about those things. But there are pageant organizers that are very strict. And then they have to prepare you for the international competition whose standards are also very strict," said Quirino said.

Cebuana mom comes home after successful stint in Paris pageant

A radio and events host from Cebu who won 1st runner-up in the Mrs. Philippines World 2019 pageant held in Paris, France has come home. Aida Patana, 45, also won special awards such Best Advocacy, Best National Costume, People's Choice, and Mrs. Congeniality. Patana is also a single mother with five children who heads her own talent agency MTalents Events and Promotions. She also hosts "The Aida Patana Show" on 94.7 Energy FM. This is not the first time she joined a pageant. In 2010, Patana also won 1st runner-up in the Queen of Mandaue. Twenty-seven empowered single mothers and married women will compete for five titles in the Mrs. Tourism International 2019 pageant which will be held at the Tanghalang Pasigueno in Pasig City on Oct. 28. Pageant organizer Ovette Ricalde, also of Megastar Productions, said that the winners will become the faces and voices of the pageant's advocacy to stop racial discrimination and promote her own social platform.
