Mabait Ba Si Anne Curtis?

That's the P15 million question I got from Dollar, Tiger and Summer after I covered Anne Curtis for StarStudio Magazine, the entertainment magazine of ABS-CBN. Nevermind kung sino sila Dollar, Tiger and Summer, let's go back to the question: "Mabait ba si Anne Curtis?" My answer is "yes!''
Well, hindi pa naman kami close ni Anne because I only covered her for one day. And based on my initial impressions, okay naman s'ya.
Naalala ko lang uli si Anne when another controversy came up the past days. Still reeling from an incident at The Fort that involved her kapamilya stars John Lloyd Cruz and Poemela Beranda, eto na naman ang isang balita about Anne. Nag-wala raw si Anne who at that time was drunk sa birthday party in Vice Ganda and inaway si Sam Concepcion, boyfriend of her sister Jasmine. But ABS-CBN denied the incident. Let's leave it na lang that way and set aside negativity. Maging positive na lang tayo!
I want to make some kuwento na lang about Anne Curtis when I covered her for the "E! Special" late last year. I will never forget her because Anne Curtis was my first, big entertainment coverage for StarStudio Magazine.
My editors for the magazine gave simple instructions: Don't talk to her, just follow her. You can interview the people around except Anne Curtis. Then submit an article about her activities the whole day. O di ba, so easy? Pero mahirap din pala. Initially, I felt like a stalker.
Call time was 8:30 a.m. When I arrived in Makati City, the photo shoot had started. I was late. Napa-aga ang dating ni Anne. From morning to 2 p.m. Anne was busy with the pictorial, wearing different outfits --- sexy to formal --- created by topnotch fashion designer Francis Libiran.
Since wala akong makausap, nakipag-chikahan muna ako kay Tess, one of her handlers. I asked her kung choosy ba si Anne sa mga commercial na ginagawa n'ya. Namimili rin naman si Anne pero when it comes to talent fee, iba-iba, she said. Siguro depende sa company.
Kung meron daw commercial na gustong-gustong gawin ni Anne, it's instant noodles. Lagi kasing on-the-go si Anne at mabilis kumain. Unfortunately, wala pa s'yang offer to do an instant noodles ad up to now!
It was a Sunday when the shoot took place, usually rest day for the actress. But since the show is really special, no choice for Anne but to shoot the scenes.
Lunch break came. Anne Curtis joined the production staff for a hearty meal. Mga almost two hours s'ya with the staff sa lunch table that served pasta, chicken, beef, pork and veggie dishes.
Time to change venue. At around 3 p.m., the shoot will take place in Anne's super exclusive home in Makati City. Tess said only 10 people will be allowed to enter Anne's home.
Of course, kasama ako doon kasi I represented StarStudio Magazine. Ako lang and the five people from E! Asia who planed in from Singapore ang allowed na media.
OMG! Can't believe pupunta kami sa house ni Anne.
Ang ganda-ganda ng house! Swak na swak ang location ng dining table n'ya which is overlooking the majestic Makati skyline. Really, the house is a product of hard work!
We were also greeted by unexpected house companions: Anne's two play dogs. They are so cute, pero 'yung isa medyo may sakit the time we went there, that's why medyo tahimik yung doggie.
The production staff started to re-arrange the furniture. Nag-biro ako kay Tess, okay lang ba 'yan kay Anne? Baka mamaya bigla s'ya magaklit dahil nabago ang interior. Remember that famous actor na nagalit dahil binago ang interior ng sala n'ya na walang paalam? Talagang galit na galit si famous actor and the taping was cancelled na lang.
Anne finally came and was informed about the tentative arrangement of the furniture. "It's okay, no problem.'' She changed into another outfit and later, the cameras started to roll again. The TV special interview was completed around 6 p.m.
I know that time, takang-taka si Anne kung sino ako na naka-upo lang sa isang corner at nakikinig lang ng interview. Because lahat ng tao sa house n'ya that time ay nakausap n'ya except ako. Perhaps na mention na rin ni Tess ang presence ko doon, that's why when it was time for me to say goodbye, nag-wave lang ako kay Anne and nag-wave din s'ya with a smile. Just following instructions, he he he!
No matter what they say about Anne Curtis, love na love ko s'ya!
