Miss World beauty pageant to introduce new format

The 67th Miss World beauty pageant, on-going in Sanya, China, has announced the changing of its format in choosing the winners as it focuses on social media and interactivity. Dubbed "Head to Head Challenge Rounds," the Miss World contest said that 20 Groups of 6 Countries will go head to head for a place in the Top 40 Round (the number of countries in each group may be adjusted according to the final number of contestants). The winner of each Challenge Group will automatically qualify for the Miss World Top 40 Round, organizers said. The bulk of Top 40 contestants will now come from "Head to Head challenge winners" with 20 candidates; 5 Fast Track Event’s Winners; and 15 Judges selection. A total of 120 candidates are competing in this year's beauty contest. Stephanie del Valle of Puerto Rico is the reigning Miss World. Laura Lehmann, 24, is the country's delegate to the longest-running beauty pageant which will hold its finals on Nov. 1

Award-winning English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has reset his upcoming shows in Japan and the Philippines to April 2018 following a bike injury last October 16. Actress Cristine Reyes has denied allegations that she snubbed Kapuso star Marian Rivera during the premier night of her movie "Seven Sundays" recently. "Hindi 'yun tutoo. Actress Isabel Granada is in critical condition after she collapsed during an event in Qatar last Tuesday, October 24. Arnel Cowley, partner of Isabel for two years now, issued a statement on her condition. "To all family and friends, please pray for my wife Isabel Granada who is in ICU at Doha Qatar in a critical condition. She suffered from a brain haemorrhage which indicates aneurism and in turn affected her heart. She collapsed suddenly without warning yesterday afternoon and is still not responding," said Cowley in a statement. "I have released this statement to end inaccurate speculations during this hard time for myself and the rest of the family and I would also like to thank the people that’s supporting me here in Doha," Cowley also said. Actor-blogger Chuckie Dreyfus has also asked for prayers for the speedy recovery of his former on-screen love team. Dreyfus, 43, made the appeal to the public on his Facebook.
