Binibining Paranaque 2018 pageant: Who's the fairest?
The 16 most beautiful girls in Paranaque City were presented during the weekly flag-raising ceremony in front of the city hall last February 5.
This year's official candidates for the Binibining Paranaque 2018 beauty pageant are: Swerab M Esmael, San Antonio; Tricia A. Belleza, Baclaran; Marian Marjorie M. Guevarra, Don Galo; Franchesca Denise A. Reyes, San Dionisio; Isabelle C. Pedersen, Merville; Tricia May P. Pelaez, Marcelo Green; Germaine Gale R. Soylon, Sto. Nino; Maria Isabel D. Alves, San Isidro; Ellen Grace J. Brito, Sun Valley; Julian Maristelle C. Cruz, La Huerta; Kelly Nina Allison M. Dallas, Tambo; Maria Christine Joy F. Otis, Vitalez; Andrea Francesca L. Hicap, Don Bosco; Liezel T. Asioche, BF Homes; Beatrice Marie R. Fernandez, SMDP; and Mhikee Samonte, Moonwalk.
"We have two pageants - Mamita for senior citizens and Bb. Paranaque. The winners in these contests will be the ambassadress of the city not only in Metro Manila but for the whole country," said Paranaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez during an ambush interview after the press presentation of candidates.
"The winners will also take part in community service which will involve the city's advocacy on education, health, nutrition, and employment generation," added Olivarez. Also Joining the mayor in the press presentation of candidates were Congressman Eric Olivarez and other city officials.
On his impressions of the 16 candidates, Olivarez said: "We're doing this for the last five years. At pa-improve sila ng pa-improve. Hindi lang sila physically maganda kundi in and out they are beautiful."
"On February 13, we are celebrating our 20th cityhood anniversary. At makikita naman natin ang ating city being a highly urbanized city. Andito kami to serve our constituents, para sa mga investor natin, we are ready for business," Olivarez said.
Paranaque City First Lady Janet Olivarez said: "Every time I meet them, I give them pep talk. I tell them that beyond this contest there should be harmonious relationship, brotherhood. They should treat one another like sisters."
"These girls are beautiful and they are confident They know how to carry themselves," said Mrs Olivarez, who admitted she joined local pageants when she was still in college.
"When I was younger, a long, long time ago, I used to join pageants. That's why I can relate to them. I give them the boost whenever I talk to these girls," she recalled.
The grand coronation night of the 2018 Bb. Paranaque and Mamita beauty pageants will be held at the Paranaque City Multi-Purpose and Gym on Saturday, Feb. 10. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
