Why producer Baby F. Go is proud of 'Almost A Love Story'

"Almost A Love Story," which stars Barbie Forteza and Derrick Monasterio and produced by BG Productions International Inc., will finally hit theaters nationwide starting April 11.

And who could be more proud of this film than its hardworking producer Baby F. Go who is joining the bandwagon of mainstream movies for the first time. Most of the scenes were shot in Italy kaya mahal ang pelikulang ito."

At the bloggers' press conference held at Max's Restaurant in Timog, Quezon City, Go weighed in on the difference between making a mainstream movie and an independent film.

Go said that she hopes that "Almost A Love Story'' will make a splash in the box-office.

But Go pointed out that indie films will continue to be at the forefront of BG Productions International Inc. despite her successful effort to penetrate the mainstream or commercial movie.

"Through this movie, makikita mo ang panibagong pananaw ng ibang tao.

Aside from Italy, Go has produced several indie movies abroad. Hopefully, Go said that she could produce a film that will be shot in Australia.

"Wala pang project for Australia pero parang gusto ko na doon ang susunod na pelikula na gagawin ng BG sa abroad," she said.

Joining her at the bloggers press conference were supporting stars Lotlot de Leon and Ana Capri. They were also joined by Jean Go-Marasigan, daughter of Baby Go, and line producer Dennis Evangelista.

Critics said that the title of the movie "Almost A Love Story" is apparently giving the audience a hint that Derrick and Barbie will not fall in love in the end of the film which is directed by Louie Ignacio.

Go said that critics could give their own opinion about the title of the movie. But they could be wrong in their analysis.

- ROBERT R. REQUINTINA
