Villar marks 5th anniversary of Baseco project

To mark the 5th anniversary of her various projects in Baseco Compound, Tondo, Sen. Cynthia Villar led a clean-up activity in the area. Since 2015, Villar has been returning to Barangay 649, Gasangan, a coastal community along Manila Bay, to conduct monthly clean up and tree-planting activities as well as to check on the progress of the construction of toilets and status of the various livelihood projects she established for the residents. Villar, chairperson of the committee on environment, natural resources, and climate change, expressed her gratitude to individuals and groups who contributed to the success of the projects. “Looking back, rehabilitating Baseco looked like a daunting task but your continued cooperation encouraged me to carry on. Villar lauds inter-agency cleanup of Manila Bay

Sen. Cynthia Villar has lauded the volunteers and government officials who led the launch of the inter-agency campaign to clean and rehabilitate Manila Bay. Villar, chair of the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, said the campaign called “Battle for Manila Bay,” provided the needed boost to volunteers who have made it their life’s mission to help clean and rehabilitate the historic bay. “Nakakatuwa na mas marami na ngayon ang involved sa paglilinis ng Manila Bay. Villar family marks Christmas with Baseco and Iruhin kids

The Villar family led by Senate President Manny and Senator Cynthia Villar celebrated their annual Christmas gift-giving get-together with some 150 kids from barangay Baseco in Tondo and barangay Iruhin in Tagaytay at the Christmas Village in Crosswinds, Tagaytay. Good sanitation will lead to economic growth - Villar

Sanitation is fundamental to both good health and social and economic growth, Sen. Cynthia A. Villar said as she stressed anew the importance of proper waste disposal and personal hygiene in achieving self-sufficiency. Villar, who is the chairperson of the Senate committees on agriculture and food and environment and natural resources, urged families in crowded areas to start with the most simple types of sanitation. "Let us start with ourselves. Let us start with our homes. Each of us should know and learn the value of hygiene and sanitation. Senator Cynthia A. Villar has reiterated the value of personal hygiene and sanitation to improve self-sufficiency and the earning opportunities of individuals and communities. "One’s capacity to earn is enhanced when care and attention are given to his personal hygiene.
