Here's a throwback article on Binibining Pilipinas 2017 beauty queens! These one-on-one interviews were conducted just few days after they were crowned at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon on April 30, 2017. In this article, the queens paid tribute to their mothers and single moms prior to Mother's Day celebration. It's that time of the year when some of the candidates of the Bb. Pilipinas beauty contest treat their fans, pageant enthusiasts and the media to an afternoon of entertainment. Fifteen of the 40 candidates of the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 pageant danced, sang and played instruments to a packed and appreciative crowd during the talent competition held at the Farmer's Plaza in Cubao last February 10. Although the result of the talent show will have no bearing in the finals, the girls made extra effort to present their individual talents. The winner of the Miss Talent special award will be announced during the grand coronation of the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 pageant at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on March 18. Reigning beauty queens of Bb. Pilipinas got sentimental as they cherished the things they would miss most about their one-year stint in the prestigious pageant. "Sad to say, ma-mi miss ko 'yung mga bonding naming mga queens. 'Yung learning from one another, sharing of thoughts and ideas for our preparations," said Nelda Ibe, 1st runner-up at 2017 Miss Globe pageant, during an interview at the Kia Theater in Cubao, Quezon City recently. Miss Philippines, others play good Samaritan to Miss Peru

Miss Philippines Chanel Olive Thomas is living up to the title of Miss Friendship after she and some candidates rushed to Miss Peru who passed out while the winners for the Miss Supranational 2017 pageant were being announced live in Poland last Dec. 1 (Dec. 2 Manila time). The viral footage was not seen on television but several pageant fans who watched the show in Poland live recorded the incident through their cellphones and uploaded it on social media. In the video, Miss Peru Lesly Reyna fainted while the hosts were about to announce the winners of the competition. When Miss Peru passed out, some of the girls, including Thomas, helped her and brought her to an area near the backstage. Thomas stood a bit far from the commotion when she ran to the girls. Moments later, the Filipino-Australian beauty queen was seen rushing backstage apparently to seek medical assistance for Miss Peru. The winners of the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 beauty pageant were crowned at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City on May 1. From 40 candidates, the girls were narrowed down to 25. Those who made the initial cut were Nelda Ibe, Arienne Calingo, Rachel Peters, Beatrice Valente, Diane Marasigan, Katarina Rodriguez, Juliana Kapeundl, Camille Manalo, Sammie Anne Legaspi, Chanel Olive Thomas, Elizabeth Clenci, Ma. Bejieleen Nama, Sirene Sutton; Kristel Guelos, Jennyline Malpaya, Mariel de Leon, Charmaine Elima, Vanessa Saliba, Kristi Rose Cequena, Larah Grace Lacap, Christagale Borja, Ruffa Nava, Gabriel Ortega, Jehza Huelar and Ana Patricia Asturias. All of them competed in swimsuit and evening gown. After the two competitions, the girls were trimmed to Top 15.
