It's confirmed! Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is finally transferring to ABS CBN after two decades of stint on GMA 7. This was confirmed by GMA-7's Senior Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth G. Rasonable in a statement released through GMA Corporate Communications Vice President Angel Javier-Cruz on Oct. 13. Regine has not issued any official statement on her transfer to the rival network. But on Oct. 12, Asia's Songbird confirms it when she posted on Instagram that she is joining ASAP, the Sunday musical-variety themed show of ABS CBN, which will be held in Sydney, Australia on October 20. It was captioned: "See you guys in Sydney." Reports say that Regine is transferring to the rival network to join her husband Ogie Alcasid who is now a contract star of the Kapamilya Network. Kapuso star Ruru Madrid can't wait for his fans to watch "Barangay 143," the first Filipino anime that also features the favorite sports of many Filipinos which is basketball. The much-awaited Filipino anime series will debut on GMA 7 sometime in October. In the series, Ruru plays Wax, one of the lead characters. Days after he left ABS CBN, field reporter-television host Atom Araullo returned to GMA 7 where he started his broadcasting career. Araullo, 34, will be part of the Kapuso network's News and Public Affairs team. “I’m very excited. Ang dami kong gustong gawin, particularly in the realm of documentary production.
