Miss Universe to visit Indonesia

Miss Universe Catriona Gray said that she is set to visit Indonesia for the first time in the coming days as she hinted at pursuing Broadway in the future. "I've been told we're off to Indonesia which will be my first time there," said Gray during an interview for the morning show "Good Day New York" on Fox 5 last Jan. 8. This will be her first official trip abroad as Miss Universe. On the second day of her media week tour, Gray said: "I'm excited about it because my roommate during the Miss Universe pageant was Miss Indonesia. And she told me beautiful things about her country where to visit, where to eat. So I hope I can catch up with her and also I can look around and really explore." She did not give details of her trip to Indonesia. Hosts Rosanna Scotto and Lori Stokes also asked Gray about her long-time boyfriend Filipino-German Clint Bondad who is one of the hosts for the Kapuso morning show "Unang Hirit." Scotto...

The Miss Earth 2018 beauty pageant is nearing homestretch as it almost wraps up its pre-pageant activities leading towards the grand coronation night on Nov. 3. While the preliminary judging for BEAUTY of FACE and POISE is finished, the 87 candidates will hurdle  two more important pre-pageant activities: FIGURE and FORM Preliminary Judging (Century Park Hotel) on Oct. 29; and INTELLIGENCE and ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS Preliminary Judging (Diamond Hotel) on Nov. 1. Prior to that, we asked 10 candidates of Miss Earth 2018 pageant under Water Group at random the question: "If God will grant you one wish, what would it be?" Aspiring journalist crowned new Mr. Universe Tourism 2018

Brata Kartasasmita of Indonesia has been crowned as the new Mr. Universe Tourism 2018, replacing Benigno "Ion" Perez of the Philippines. This was announced by Mr. Manuel Genabe, CEO of Mr. Universe Tourism Organization, during the coronation night of Mr. Tourism Indonesia 2018 Friday night. "Your country's representative last year Mr. Brata Kartasasmita did very well and landed as one of the winners being the first runner up," says Genabe. He adds: "However, due to the recent turn of events with our grand winner and for his disappearance and inability to fulfill his obligations and responsibilities, it is now my pride and honor to announce that Mr. Universe Tourism Indonesia 2018 Brata is now Mr. Universe Tourism 2018 replacing the previous winner!" Genabe reminds the public that "in the event that the grand winner would not be able to fulfill his duties and responsibilities, the 1st runner-up will take his place."         ...

Mariel de Leon: Proud of her achievement as beauty queen

Though she did not advance to the Top 15 of the Miss International 2017 pageant in Tokyo, Japan last  Nov. 14, Bb. Pilipinas International Mariel de Leon has said that she is proud of how far she has achieved as a beauty queen. "I’m so proud of how far I’ve come, how hard I fought and how much I grew & transformed! Strong, empowered, and brave is the new sexy," said Mariel on Instagram, one day after the Miss International contest. Mariel, daughter of veteran stars Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong, also said that she gave her all during the competition. Indonesian model makes history in Miss International 2017

An Indonesian model made history when she was crowned Miss International 2017 during a pageant held in Tokyo, Japan last Tuesday night, Nov. 14. Kevin Lilliana Junaedy, 21, is the first Indonesian to win the title in the 57-year history of the pageant. She was crowned by outgoing Miss International Kylie Verzosa from the Philippines. She beat 70 other women for the title. Junaedy finished interior design at the Maranatha Christian University in her hometown. Reports said that her name Kevin came from the blockbuster Hollywood film "Home Alone" in which Macaulay Culkin plays the role of a young boy named Kevin McCallister. First runner- up honors went to Miss Curacao Chanelle de Lau; Miss Venezuela Diana Croce, 2nd runner-up; Miss Australia Amber Dew, 3rd runner-up; and Miss Japan Tsutsui Natsuki, 4th runner-up. Natsuki is half-Filipino, half-Japanese therapist. She was trained in the Philippines before she competed in the Miss International 2017 beauty contest....
