Jollibee, Miss Universe titleholders spread joy to kids

Miss Universe beauty pageant returns to Las Vegas

The 66th Miss Universe beauty contest returns to Las Vegas in Nevada on November 26, the pageant's website announced. Five-time Emmy Award winner Steve Harvey will host the three-hour show which will broadcast live from The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, the same venue where Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of the Philippines was crowned. Iris Mittenaere from France will crown her successor at the conclusion of the show. Rachel Peters is the country's representative to the pageant. It would be recalled that the Miss Universe Organization offered to the Philippines to stage the pageant for the second time in a row. This was announced by Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo at the sidelines of the International Conference on Sustainable Tourism for Development on Thursday. “No Miss Universe this year. It looks like the Philippines will stage the Miss Universe pageant once again. But it will all depend on the decision of President Rodrigo, according to Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo during an interview on CNN Philippines on June 1. This after the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) offered the Philippines once again to host the prestigious beauty pageant sometime in November. Teo said in the same television interview that MUO President Paula Schugart will arrive in the country to discuss arrangements for the staging of the beauty pageant on June 7 or 8.
