Ilocos teen wins 2nd runner up in Mister Grand International 2019

The winning streak of Filipino candidates in pageants abroad continued after a 19-year-old student won 2nd runner-up in Mister Grand International 2019 held in Myanmar Sunday night, November 10. Paolo Gallardo, of San Fernando, La Union is one of three Asians who made it to the top 5 of the competition that advocates sports and healthy lifestyle. Mister Vietnam was crowned Mister Grand International. Other winners were Brazil, 1st runner-up; Thailand, 3rd runner-up; and Puerto Rico, 4th runner-up. Gallardo captured the hearts of pageant fans with his story of courage and survival after his mother and siblings died during a fire on New Year's Eve in 2010. This heartbreaking moment, he said, taught him to be strong and independent. At 16, Gallardo broke the fashion scene when won Mister Boardwalk in 2016. I came out of a relationship few months ago. I broke up with my girlfriend. So now I am single and I am enjoying the free time," said Skyllas when asked if he is in a relationship these days, during an interview at Psalmstre Glam Slam 2017 held in Marikina City last Oct. 28. Organized by Jaime Acosta, president and CEO of Psalmstre, maker of New Placenta soap, the event welcomed delegates of the Miss Earth beauty competition at a meet-and-greet occasion. Mister Grand International 2017 Michaelangelo Skyllas of Australia has joined Psalmstre Enterprises, Inc. as its latest brand ambassador. Skyllas, 19, bartender, signed a contract for one year and three months as witnessed by Jaime Acosta, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Psalmstre Enterprises, Inc., maker of the popular New Placenta soap and other beauty line. Acosta said that Skyllas signed the contract before he left for Australia last Oct. 9. The pageant winner will come back in two weeks, he said. Skyllas joined the stable of popular celebrities who are currently endorsing or have endorsed for Acosta's company. Australian wins inaugural Mister Grand International

A 19-year-old model and bartender from Australia was crowned the first Mister Grand International during a contest held in Quezon City early yesterday morning. Michael Angelo Skyllas bested 24 other international contestants in the male pageant that promotes sports and brotherhood. First runner-up honors went to Ratchada hamphanon of Thailand. He was followed by 2nd Runner-Up Nguyen Tien Dat, Vietnam, 2nd runner-up;  Hammid Noor, Germany, 3rd runner-up; and Joshua Reginald P. Banatin, Philippines, 4th runner-up. Candidates from Spain and the Dominican Republic rounded up the Top 7 contestants. Winners of fast-track events who automatically qualified for the Top 15 semi-finalists were: Social Icon, Nepal; Talent, Ecuador; Best Speaker, USA; Online Voting Star, Nepal; Sports Icon, The Dominican Republic; Fashion Icon, Thailand; and Best in Swimwear, Vietnam.
