Meet Jody Baines "JB" Saliba, 25, the Philippine representative to the Mr. World 2019 pageant in Manila. Saliba, of Olongapo City, graduated with a degree in sports science from UP last July. He played for the UP Maroons Baseball Team when he was still in school. He says he loves sports and has been an athlete since he was six years old. Saliba also loves dogs, wake boarding, baseball, swimming, and golf. The eldest and the only male among five children, Saliba is an upcoming movie star and a former contestant of the reality show Amazing Race Philippines Season 2. More than 100 candidates from around the world will converge in the Philippines when it hosts for the first time the Mr. World pageant on January 27, 2019. Initially, Julia Morley, founder of Miss World Organization (MWO), announced on Facebook that the prestigious male competition will be staged in Manila on Sept. 16. For the first time in 22 years, the Mister World pageant will be held in the Philippines in September. This was announced by Arnold Vegafria, of the ALV Events International, during a press conference for the send-off of Cynthia Thomnalla who will represent the country in the Miss Eco International pageant to be held in Egypt. "More than 120 male contestants from around the world will converge in the Philippines for this prestigious male pageant," said Vegafria, also business manager of Senator Manny Pacquiao. No exact date has been set for the finals of the international male pageant, owned by the Miss World Organization under its chairwoman Julia Morley.
