'Barangay 143' makes historic debut on GMA 7

The long wait is over! The first all-star Filipino anime entitled "Barangay 143" makes its historic debut on GMA 7 on Sunday,  October 21, at 10 a.m. Co-produced between Synergy88 Entertainment Media Inc., TV Asahi (Japan) and August Media Holdings (Singapore), the much-awaited weekly anime features a celebrity cast who lend their voices such as Cherie Gil, Alice Dixon and John Arcilla and millennial heartthrobs Julie Anne San Jose, Kelley Day, Migo Adacer, and Ruru Madrid. Candid Shot: Ruru Madrid

Kapuso star Ruru Madrid can't wait for his fans to watch "Barangay 143," the first Filipino anime that also features the favorite sports of many Filipinos which is basketball. The much-awaited Filipino anime series will debut on GMA 7 sometime in October. In the series, Ruru plays Wax, one of the lead characters. "I'm very happy to be part of this project kasi this is the first time na Japan and Philippines na mag-collaborate through an anime series. I'm also a fan of anime and basketball," the 20-year-old actor says. Ruru adds: ""Sobrang fan talaga ako ng anime. Eng'g graduate from General Santos wins Mr. Philippines 2018

A 21-year-old engineering graduate was crowned Mr. Philippines Grand International 2018 at the inaugural pageant held in Quezon City early Sunday morning. Kenneth B. Sadiang-abay, of General Santos City, bested 34 other male candidates for the major title in a contest that aims to help fight drug addiction. During the final question-and-answer portion, Sadiang-abay was asked about his edge over the other candidates in the pageant. He answered: "My edge is I have the discipline and determination to prove my personality." It is the first time for Sadiang-abay to join a national pageant. He took up marine engineering at the Mindanao Polytechnic College. Now that he won the pageant, Sadiang-abay says that wants to promote the rights of the poor children in his province. Michelle Gumabao: No special treatment from BF in the gym

Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2018 Michelle Gumabao has said that she does not receive any special treatment from her boyfriend athlete Aldo Panlilio when she trains in the gym. "Pag nasa gym kami hindi talaga. Pag nasa gym, he calls me Michelle. I'm not love, I'm not babe. Michelle!" said Gumabao during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN. "That's how he is in the gym, he's very strict. So in the gym, we're not girlfriend and boyfriend. We're coach and athlete," said the athlete-turned-beauty queen from Quezon City. Gumabao, 25, said that she is in a relationship with Panlilio for almost two years now. Her boyfriend is the head strength and conditioning coach of Phoenix Fuelmasters basketball team. Kris Aquino appeals to James: Stop using son for publicity

Actress-television host Kris Aquino has launched another rant against her former husband basketball star James Yap to stop using their son Bimby for publicity. "James Yap - stop using Bimb for publicity, most especially when you are opening a BAR! That is the wrong venue to be discussing your relationship (or in this case lack of one) with your son," said Aquino in lengthy Facebook post. "The proper thing to do would have been to answer, 'THIS ISN'T THE CORRECT VENUE TO DISCUSS MY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY SON AND I WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU COULD RESPECT OUR PRIVACY," she said. "I have had so many presscons and launches over the years and in the past few months- but it seems there is so much more going on in my life that the subject of James Yap has rarely come up; and for the sake of Bimb's well-being I made the conscious effort to put the past behind.
