Hyun Bin donates 200 million Korean won in fight vs Covid-19

Actor Hyun Bin was reported to have donated 200,000,000 won (P8.2 million) to the fight against coronavirus (Covid-19) in South Korea. A report by Koreaboo.com said that Hyun secretly donated to the Community Chest of Korea, a non-profit organization. Hyun's agency said that it is not aware of the actor's donation. Reports said that the "Crash Landing On You" actor even requested the organization to keep quiet about it until he wrote a letter on Instagram. He wrote a letter on Instagram about the sorry state of coronavirus in South Korea. It was written in Korean and was later translated in English. DoH launches Covid-19 emergency hotlines

The Department of Health (DoH) launched on March 17 the DOH COVID-19 emergency hotlines 02-894-COVID (02-894-26843) and 1555 in partnership with the National Emergency Hotline of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and PLDT and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications Inc. Callers can ask questions if they suspect they are infected with COVID-19, or request assistance if they have symptoms and/or known exposure to confirmed cases or patients under investigation. The information collected from emergency calls is transmitted to the COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center and other relevant agencies for immediate facilitation and response.  “As we enhance our efforts to contain this disease, we are working with both the public and private sectors, which can provide the facilities and the technical expertise to address the many challenges that we face each day. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson released from coronavirus treatment

US actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have been released from a hospital in Australia after receiving treatment for coronavirus. The couple, who are now in self-quarantine in their Queensland rented home, announced they had tested positive last week. The couple were on the Gold Coast as Hanks made a film about Elvis Presley. Production has been put on hold. There are currently 375 confirmed cases of the virus in Australia. Hanks, 63, said last Thursday on Instagram he had come down with the virus. "We felt a bit tired, like we had colds and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too," he said in a post. Christopher de Leon tests positive for coronavirus

Multi-awarded Filipino actor Christopher de Leon has been tested positive for Covid-19. De Leon made the announcement on Instagram March 17. He carries the name sgt.pepper8 on the photo-sharing service and social network. The actor also said that his wife actress Sandy Andolong, daughter Mica and their kasambay are now under self-quarantine at home. De Leon's full announcement: "To all my family and friends, especially in the entertainment business: "Today, our doctor confirmed that I have COVID-19.
