The Miss Earth 2018 beauty pageant is nearing homestretch as it almost wraps up its pre-pageant activities leading towards the grand coronation night on Nov. 3. While the preliminary judging for BEAUTY of FACE and POISE is finished, the 87 candidates will hurdle  two more important pre-pageant activities: FIGURE and FORM Preliminary Judging (Century Park Hotel) on Oct. 29; and INTELLIGENCE and ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS Preliminary Judging (Diamond Hotel) on Nov. 1. Some of the most gorgeous men in the world have arrived in Manila to compete at the 2nd annual Man of the World pageant which will be held in San Juan City on July 14. Carlo Morris Galang, organizer of the pageant and President of Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation, Inc. (PEPPS Foundation), says that it is all systems go for one of the exciting male pageants in the world. Fil-German Cynthia Thomalla is Miss Eco International 2018

The Philippines captured its first pageant title this year after a Cebuana beauty queen was crowned Miss Eco International 2018 during a contest held in Egypt last Friday (Saturday morning Manila time). Cynthia Thomalla bested 51 other candidates in the international pageant that focuses on humanitarian, social and environmental issues. Thomalla, 22, is the last of four beauty queens who competed abroad under the Miss World Philippines franchise owned by Arnold Vegafria, business manager of Senator Manny Pacquiao. Other reigning beauty queens under Miss World Philippines who won titles were Teresita Marquez, Reina Hispamoamericana; and Sophia Senoron, Miss Multinational. Laura Lehman made it to the semis of Miss World pageant. Miss Philippines Cynthia Tomalla has called on the people to be environment friendly and be responsible travelers through waste management. "For me, it should be the traveler who should be responsible for their trash. If they're traveling, they should know how to pick up their trash and throw it properly. Everyone should be aware of how to take care of our planet because we only have one planet. Everyone should be an eco-warrior and everyone should be environmental friendly," said Tomalla during send-off held in Timog, Quezon City recently. Tomalla, 22, left the Philippines on April 9 to represent the country in the Miss Eco International beauty pageant which will be held in Zamalek, Egypt from April 10-27. Katarina Rodriguez competes in Miss Intercontinental 2017

The international pageant season kicked off this year with the staging of the Miss Intercontinental 2017 beauty contest which will be held in Hurghada, Egypt from January 10-25. Katarina Rodriguez, a graduate of business management and philosophy from the De La Salle University, will represent the Philippines in the 46th edition of the beauty pageant. She is also the last of the current batch of Binibining Pilipinas who is competing abroad. Other Binibinis who have competed in international contests were Nelda Ibe, 1st runner-up, Miss Globe in Albania; Elizabeth Clenci, 2nd runner-up, Miss Grand International; Mariel de Leon, competed in Miss International; Rachel Peters, Top 10, 2017 Miss Universe pageant; and Chanel Olive Thomas, Miss Supranational. Man of the World has sweet message for the youth

"Just follow your dreams!" This is one of the inspiring words of newly crowned Man of the World Mustafa Galal Elezali of Egypt when sought to give a message for the youth during his victory party at Icon Hotel in Quezon City recently. "Stay with positive people, not with negative people. "Stay away from drugs, stay away from smoking. "Just trust yourself, dream big and work hard," said Mustafa, who is into fitness and boxing. The Egyptian hunk has signed a contract for one-year-and-a-half with Prime Events Productions Philippines Foundation Inc. (PEPPS) under Carlo Morris Galang as part of his prize package for Man of the World. Galang also said that there was an offer for PEPPS to stage the second Man of the World contest abroad next year. Egypt model is 2017 Man of the World

A 26-year-old model from Egypt was crowned Man of the World during the first pageant held at Esplanade One in Pasay City last Friday, July 28. Crowd favorite Mustafa Galal Elizali, 26, edged out 27 other male candidates from around the world in the contest which advocates masculinity with responsibility. First runner-up was Nguyen Huu Long of Vietnam while Abou Sahyoun Wasslim of Palestine won 2nd runner-up. Other candidates who finished in the top 5 are delegates from Moldova and Guam. During the question and answer portion, the top three candidates were asked a common question "Why should you win Man of the World 2017?" Mustafa repliied: "If given the chance to be Man of the World, he has to be man of his word. Three keys for Man of the World - being humble, simple and believe in himself.
