Katarina Rodriguez looks forward to 2019

Image
Reigning Miss World Philippines Katarina Rodriguez may not have won the Miss World 2018 crown in China recently but says that she won't change a thing during the international competition. "I arrived in China feeling like the weight of the world was on my shoulders & now I leave China feeling absolute freedom," says Rodriguez on Instagram just one day after she arrived from China recently. Rodriguez continues: "I would not have changed a thing during my time in Miss World this past month. Despite not bringing home the blue crown, I did exactly what I wanted, I represented my beloved country for my last time & introduced to the world #ProjectBecome & the @teachpeacebuildpeacemovement; "This competition was more than just a crown. It meant becoming a woman. It was opening my heart and mind to a panel of judges, who in retrospect had their preferences, knowing the possibility that my reality wouldn’t be what they were looking for," the...

The 'World' according to Katarina Rodriguez

Miss Philippines Katarina Rodriguez admits she loves music but she doesn't sing that much. "I have a few karaoke trips and that's it!" says a laughing Katarina when asked how much she loves music, during her rousing press send-off for Miss World 2018 pageant at Annabel's in Quezon City last Nov. 8. "I listen to music but I don't really sing." For almost two years now, Katarina is consistent in saying that her favorite song is "Everglow" by the popular British band Coldplay. "A bit of sad, happy song. It will hit you in the heart." Since Katarina loves music, POP NEWS PHILIPPINES asked her to give her initial thoughts on several song titles containing the word "WORLD". Katarina obliged but in one condition - that I have to sing parts of these songs to familiarize her as I introduce these titles! Challenge accepted! In the end, Katarina mentioned an original Pilipino music (OPM) which she loves. It's c...

Her full post on IG: "Before I get into the conventional beauty queen victory post, I wanted to share something about authenticity. This is me. Katarina “Katja” Rodriguez at 26 years old. I’ve had people from all directions, coming from everywhere and anywhere judge me like it’s their profession; "People who know me, or don’t know me, who think they know me, or may have just heard something through some imaginary grape vine so to speak - giving me constant criticism, be it constructive or just flat out unnecessary; "It comes my way day to day. I have people telling me to act this way or ...
