Villar honors outstanding farmers, irrigators

Senator Cynthia A. Villar recognizes the significant contributions of the recipients of the 2018 Rice Achievers award in ensuring that rice remains a staple in the Filipino household’s daily meal.  Villar, chair of the Senate agriculture and food committee, said she is happy that many reforms in the country’s agricultural sector like sufficient irrigation happened under the Duterte administration.  During the event, the re-elected senator posed with the rice achiever awardees at the awarding ceremony held at the PICC in Pasay City.

If she would have the chance to return to the Senate, Senator Cynthia A. Villar vows to continue helping poor Filipino get out of poverty. Villar was among the senatorial candidates endorsed by President Rodrigo Duterte during the PDP-Laban campaign rally at the Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna. In asking voters  to support the re-election bid of Villar, the President stresses that  only “stupid” will not vote for her, whom he described as “parang Nanay ng Bayan” and a “mother in the halls of Congress” who was never involved in any corruption. He also acknowledges Villar’s unrelentless efforts and several projects inorder to help our people.

28 men, women compete in annual Mr. and Ms. Biñan pageant

The 28 official candidates of Mr. and Ms. Biñan - 14 men and 14 women - were formally presented to the press at the Southwoods Mall Biñan City recently. During press presentation, Mayor Arman Dimaguila gave his earnest welcome address. After which, the candidates showcased their adorable aura on stage. They also underwent searing interview with the invited local and national press to grasp a preview of their wit, personality, and character. The three-month fecund preparation for the upcoming prestigious Mister and Miss Biñan pageant on May 19, 2019 which is a part of the Biñan Puto Latik Festival is spearheaded by the Local Government Unit of Biñan, Laguna headed by Mayor Arman Dimaguila through the Biñan City Culture, History, Arts and Tourism Office (BCHATO) headed by Mr. BJ Borja. Senator Cynthia Villar turns 68 today, July 29, as she makes simple wishes on her birth anniversary "Lahat ng tao gusto natin good health at saka sana marami pa tayong maibigay na hanap-buhay sa ating mga kababayan," says Villar, during an interview at the 13th Waterlily Festival held at the Villar SIPAG compound in Las Pinas City last July 27. They're smart, beautiful, cute, and pageant-ready! Maan Aris, of Gla'More Productions Company, has introduced to the media the kids and teens who will compete in pageants and events here and abroad this year. There will be no boys competing this year as the company re-branded itself as "Prince and Princess of the Philippines." "Naka-ilang attempt na kaming i-launch yung Prince of the Philippines and finally this year, we will have the rebranding of Prince and Princess of the Philippines," says Aris during the press presentation of the candidates at Icon Hotel in Timog, Quezon City recently.
