Thai pharmacist crowned Miss Int'l 2019, PH bet in top 8

A 26-year-old pharmacist from Thailand was crowned Miss International 2019, beating 82 other contestants for the crown, during a televised competition held in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday, November 12. In her winning speech, Sireethorn Leearamwat said: "Do you know I was criticized a lot when I was crowned Miss Thailand. But I never give up. And now I am here. I dare to be a beauty queen even when there's really nothing to my career. I am a pharmacist. I used all the critics as a power to make myself improve to be the best representative and make my nation proud. So the definition of cheer all women for me is how to encourage support and inspire all women around the world that make their dreams come true and make a great thing to our world." Three candidates of Miss Asia Pacific International 2019 - Dominican Republic, Namibia, and Philippines - shared the Metro EsthetiCo Ambassadress special award during the preliminaries held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City last Oct. 5. Meet a new face in pageant world. She's none other Resham Ramirez Saeed, a morena beauty with Filipino and Pakistani decent. This 25-year-old young will represent Maguindanao when she joins the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 beauty pageant in June. Born in the Philippines, Saeed has fierce features that balance well with her witty and bubbly personality. The future beauty queen was raised in six different countries until she decided to return to the Philippines to reconnect with her roots. Saeed visits the Philippines every other year but she realizes that her core strength lies in being a Filipina. HK psychologist crowned Miss Global 2018

A psychologist from Hong Kong was crowned Miss Global 2018 during a pageant held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City which started Monday night (February 17) and ended early Tuesday morning (February 18). Sophia Ng bested more than 40 candidates in the international pageant that caters to single mothers and single women. She was crowned by Barbara Vitorelli from Brazil who relinquished her title. Ng is the former winner of Miss Asian America 2018 beauty pageant. She has a passion to help children with depression. The beauty queen from Hong Kong also said that it was a last-minute decision for her run in the Miss Global contest.  She added that she will not pursue other pageants such as Miss Chinatown or Miss America because there's so much preparation for these prestigious beauty contests. Catriona Gray admits hiding in PH after winning Miss Universe

Catriona Gray finally opened up about hiding in the Philippines after she was crowned Miss Universe 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand last Dec. 17. "Well, I did go into hiding, mostly because I was in the Philippines for a charity event, but it wasn't actually my homecoming event. So I didn't really do a lot of interviews or talk to the media," said Gray, during an interview for Fox News recently. Gray continued: "And another thing is that Christmas and New Year for me is a time for family. I'm an only child, and I'm very, very close with my parents, who actually live in Australia." "So before the coronation in Thailand, the only time that I was with them previously, was in March of 2018. Carlo Pasion wins Mister Model Worldwide in India

A 22-year-old fitness trainer from Laoag, Ilocos Norte who was about to give up his stint in pageants won Mister Model Worldwide 2018 during a contest held in India recently. Carlo Pasion waited for one year and three months before he could compete in an international pageant. Normally, a Filipino contestant would compete within the year the delegate won in the local search. The pageant in India focuses on modelling and physique. Other winners for Mister Model Worldwide 2018 were: Thailand, 1st runner-up; India, 2nd runner-up; Bolivia, 3rd runner-up; and Nigeria, 4th runner-up. Pasion won the Misters of Filipinas contest in September 2017, earning him the right to compete abroad. He was supposed to join the Mister Ocean 2018 contest in China in August but it was cancelled. Nadine Bornilla shines in Miss Teen Int'l 2018 pageant

Miss Philippines Simone Nadine Bornilla may not have won the crown at Miss Teen International 2018 but she made her country proud when she won two special awards during the finals held in India recently. Bornilla, 15, an aspiring surgeon, won Miss Teen International Asia and Oceania and Best In National Costume. Miss Mexico was named Miss Teen International 2018. The runners-up were Miss India, 1st runner-up; and Miss Venezuela, 2nd runner-up. Bornilla, who is the reigning Miss Philippine Youth, thanked her supporters in her journey to the international pageant. "PHILIPPINES! I was so happy to be wearing your sash tonight. Newly crowned Miss Universe Catriona Gray is expected to move into her lavish New York City apartment few days from now to begin her reign. This after she was crowned 67th Miss Universe during a worldwide telecast of the beauty pageant from Bangkok, Thailand last Dec. 17. The new apartment, which will also come with a year-long salary as Miss Universe and living expenses, is a part of her prize package. 2017 Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel Peters has already moved out of the luxurious apartment after she packed up in November. Catriona Gray shines in 2018 Miss Universe preliminary round

Miss Philippines Catriona Gray captivated the crowd as she paraded with 93 other contestants at the preliminary competition of the 2018 Miss Universe beauty contest held at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand last Dec. 13. Fans cheered and waved their flags in front the contestants who competed in the swimsuit and evening gown categories for two hours which was streamed live on the pageant's website. The pre-pageant activity selected the Top 20 candidates who would have the chance to become the next Miss Universe. The Top 20 will be announced during the broadcast finale on Monday, Dec. 17. For the first time in 67 years, an all-women selecting committee will choose the winner. Gray was one of the most applauded girls in the prelims. Fil-Am model finishes 4th in Manhunt Int'l contest

It's time for Filipino men to shine in pageants abroad. Filipino-American model Jeff Langan won 3rd runner-up at Manhunt International 2018 contest during a competition held in Gold Coast, Australia last Sunday, Dec. 2. Vicent Llorach of Spain edged out 32 other candidates for the prestigious modelling title. Other winners were Australia, 1st runner-up; Netherlands, 2nd runner-up; and Vietnam, 4th runner-up. Started in 1988 by Alex Liu in Singapore, Manhunt International is the world's most recognized and longest-running international male model competition. Langan, 25, started modelling when he was still a child. Bornilla is a Grade 10 student of Colegio San Agustin in Makati City. Last Jan. 5, she represented Makati City in the Mr. and Ms. Philippines Youth contest.
