Mutya Pilipinas bets undergo self-defense training with PNP

For the first time in national pageant, the 40 candidates of Mutya Pilipinas 2019 immersed themselves in self-defense training as part of their women empowerment program. "It's all about women empowerment. I want them to learn to be vigilant, to be alert, and to know more self-defense moves," said  Mutya Pilipinas President Cory Quirino during an exclusive interview at the press presentation of the candidates held at Citadines Bay City Manila in Pasay City. Quirino said that Mutya Pilipinas coordinated with the Philippine National Police under General Rhodel O. Sermonia for the half-day seminar. "This is really my dream - to empower women in that way. I don't want to happen to them what happened to me in 1995," she said. 'Saludo' to celebrate heroism of Filipino people

A new television series entitled "Saludo" that will celebrate the everyday heroism of the Filipinos was launched at the Camp Crame headquarters in Quezon City recently. Police Chief Superintendent Rhodel Sermonia of the Police Community Relations Group (PCRG) under the Philippine National Police (PNP) and popular film producer Leonora Sy led the launch of the new television series which will be aired on PTV4 every Sunday at 8 p.m. Sy said: "SALUDO is a one-hour weekly hero-serye program of PTV4. It is a compilation of stories of everyday Filipino heroes, the least-told life stories which could be the inspiration of each and every Filipino." "This is dedicated to all the everyday heroism of the Filipino people. They all deserve the praises for whatever heroism they have shown," added Sy, executive producer of the show. Newly crowned Miss PNP 2018 eyes national pageants

Newly crowned Police Officer 1 Madonna Gay Cajoco has said that she might consider joining national pageants if she will get support from the police organization and her family. "If I will get the support of the Philippine National Police, then I will join other pageants. I have to take a leave from the police force if I will do it," said Cajoco moments after she was crowned at the 2nd annual Miss PNP Ganda Pulis beauty pageant held at the Camp Crame headquarters in Quezon City. Cajoco, 24, has been an early favorite in the pageant after she won several special awards such as Best in Ethnic Costume, Ms. Mac Cosmetics, Ms. MX3, Best in Resorts Wear, Best in Long Gown, at Ms. Above Aesthetics. The new queen also received P50,000 cash and products from this year's sponsors.
