Broadcaster Steve Dailisan bids GMA News goodbye

After 10 years, broadcaster Steve Dailisan left GMA News and Public Affairs as he thanked those who helped him realized his dream as a broadcast journalist. CNN Philippines senior anchor and correspondent Amelyn Veloso passed away last Thursday, Aug. 24, following a three-year bout with cancer. She was 43. Veloso was surrounded by her husband Rodney; son Gab. 14; and mother Amelita, during her final hours, according to a report by CNN Philippines. Following her diagnosis, the veteran broadcast journalist still went on with her duties for the morning shift of the television network. Later, Veloso underwent chemotherapy and surgery and still managed to report for work. Staff members of CNN Philippines described Veloso as calm and collected when breaking news. "She was soft-spoken, but she also had a loud and memorable laugh. She was beautiful inside and out." Veloso would also bake cookies and bring sandwiches to the set for her colleagues. Broadcaster Erwin Tulfo resigns from TV5

Feisty radio broadcaster Erwin Tulfo has resigned from TV5 network where he stayed for seven years. Tulfo made the announcement on his Facebook on July 2. He said that he will resume his broadcast duties in another network in August He did not mention what network he will transfer. 'Not done writing my story,' says Kathy San Gabriel

PTV 4 news anchor Kathy San Gabriel remains clueless on her termination from the state-owned televsion network as she pointed out that she is not done "writing my story." "I was asked by an online magazine to write about my termination from PTV. I politely declined and said that I don't want that to be the highlight of my piece. I am not done writing my story," said San Gabriel on her Facebook post today, July 6. San Gabriel has claimed that she was terminated from the state-owned television network without prior notice or grounds. San Gabriel aired her sentiments on a Facebook post last June 30, Friday.
